ESPN CFP Coverage Discrepancy?

Does anyone else ever notice that since the college football playoff started that there is a discrepancy in ESPN coverage?
That there always seems to be 1 CFP game they really focus on and the other CFP game is essentially treated as the "other game".
In 2014 FSU/Oregon got all the hype and Alabama/Ohio State got very little coverage.
2015 it was all about Alabama/Michigan State and Clemson/Oklahoma seemed overlooked.
2017 UGA/Oklahoma got all the coverage and Clemson/Alabama got very little coverage.
Even last year it was all about Clemson/Notre Dame and Alabama/Oklahoma seemed like an after thought.
This year it seems like our game against OU is being treated like an after thought. All the coverage is on Ohio State/Clemson, GameDay was at Ohio State/Clemson and Ohio State/Clemson will get ESPN's #1 team.
Why is it that ESPN seems to do this? Unfortunately for us LSU fans it seems like it's the "other game" that actually ends up being the better game. Hopefully we break that trend this year!

This Clemson Ohio state game is one of the greatest matchups I’ve ever seen. Two heisman caliber QB’s, elite defenses, and both are relatively untested. I definitely understand the hype.

An LSU fan that comes up with make believe reason number 123456789 that LSU is being disrespected. Jesus. What a thin skinned outlook.

I'm just saying it's something I've noticed. I honestly don't care but I've noticed it in other years when LSU wasn't involved at all. Why not cover both games equally?

Yeah LSU hasn’t really had much exposure this awards season, I guess?

Consumers/ratings drive the coverage. People are way more interested in the the Fiesta Bowl today.

Dumb take.
It's getting plenty of coverage for a game where the favorite is favored by 2 TDs.
The other game is the better toss up and more to talk about.

It’s also prime time and ESPN ultimately gets paid by eyeballs

Not really. It was Alabama-Clemson Part 3.

Nope, but I’ve noticed how insecure the LSU fan base is. Good grief man. You’re in the playoffs. Enjoy the ride.

Most people expect LSU to win comfortably vs Oklahoma so it isn't as exciting as Ohio State vs Clemson
And the LSU - Oklahoma game might not be getting as much hype, but LSU as an individual team is getting significantly more hype and coverage than any of the other 3 schools

I think you have your answer as to why there is a coverage discrepancy.
