Eric Weddle is what Mike Fiers should be

Demonstration of ethics and true professionalism by Weddle right there.

The Los Angeles Rams' Monday Night Football matchup with the Baltimore Ravens is a critical game for the 6-4 Rams, who desperately need a win to remain in the playoff hunt one season after appearing in Super Bowl LIII.
But don't expect the circumstances to compromise the ethics of Rams safety Eric Weddle, who played the previous three seasons with the Ravens.
Weddle said Wednesday that he won't be sharing any inside secrets about his former team.
"I could tell them a lot of stuff, but that's just not who I am," said Weddle, who signed a two-year, $10.5 million contract with the Rams after the Ravens released him in March. "So we're going to play it on the field, and the best team is going to win."

Isn’t exposing cheating ethical?

Is it ethical to sit on the cheating while you're on the team benefiting from said cheating? Only to expose the cheating after the fact.

Indeed, Mike should sell his World Series ring and donate the proceeds and all playoff and World Series bonuses to charity IMO

What is unethical about sharing your former teams tendencies with your new team? Not that it would help though because last year the Ravens had a doofus running that offense so everything is different.

I mean, he could just as easily share defensive tendencies. It's not just the offense he can offer advice on.
I can see this both ways. I can understand why Weddle wouldn't say anything. But at the same time, the Ravens released him, and one of the consequences of that is the player potentially going and giving his new team a scouting report.
I don't really think it's an ethical matter at all in Weddle's case, but simply a personal choice. That's different than the Fiers matter, which to me is a bit more of an ethical conundrum.
Regardless of your feelings on the Astros' situation, Fiers is a scumbag for being a part of that locker room and seemingly benefiting from the cheating (he got a World Series ring didn't he?), then ratting them out once he left. Seems like the type of guy who is just out for whatever benefits him at the time. It benefited him to shut his mouth when the sign stealing was going on, and it benefited him later to tip his new teams off to the sign stealing.

Given certain past players, Weddle may still have a Ravens playbook from before his release.
Players who left town under bad circumstances have been known to turn that shite over to their new team out of spite, as Steve Smith did that for the Ravens when they were going to play the Panthers.

As should every member of the 2017 Astros. Plus, strip the title, take away draft picks, and ban from postseason for a couple years.

This isn’t college football.
If the Astros win 110 games next year and don’t go to the postseason, it would make MLB a joke.

Depends on the circumstances you left the other team on. If they were bad I’d tell my new team everything. If they were good I wouldnt

If the Astros win a world series next year it's an even bigger joke and sends the message that you can cheat without consequence. Why would any team play fair after that?

Patriots won after Deflategate and other scandals. Did it delegitimize the NFL?

The NFL figured out quickly that deflategate was happening across the league. All evidence right now is pointing to this being strictly a Houston thing. MLB can't afford to cut any slack in this issue. Whatever they can do as punishment, they should do.
