He doesn't call plays under Andy Reid, there's a rumor that he shows up to interviews unprepared, he's gotten into multiple spats with Mahomes on the sideline and that's not exactly the sign of a good leader if you're always arguing with your star player even LeSean McCoy called him out on that saying something like he doesn't connect well with players, and finally his run ins with the law.

Yup. Most of what I’ve read says he interviews poorly and is a huge arse hole.

ESPN is determined to get him a head coaching job strictly on the basis of his ethnicity. Oh, and here’s a great example why the Rooney Rule is a terrible and racist idea. Every NFL team interviews him bc they need to check a box.

Meanwhile the dumbasses at ESPN will keep saying he’s not a HC because the white man is keeping him down.

How about the DC at the chiefs. Why would KC not consider him. The Chiefs D has gotten better over the past few years

Three top reasons EB is still not getting a HC job, in no order:
1) No autonomy- EB is under a HC that runs his own offense, meaning while Bieniemy may be involved with game planning he isn't running the unit. Byron Leftwich was in a similar situation in Tampa when Arians took over as HC, and Leftwich crashed and burned when he stepped down. Not to mention Reid's previous OCs have all struggled as HCs, except Pederson.
2) He doesn't interview well- Getting a HC job is mostly about being able to articulate and sell your vision for an organization. If you are well organized and prepared for an interview, owners will likely recommend you to other owners if they pass on you, which will lead to a higher chance of landing a job. The fact that EB is still being used as a "Rooney Rule" interview is a red flag.
3) He has a reputation- Aside from his checkered past, EB also has a reputation of being difficult to work with. HCs have to be the glue that holds every thing together. If they are polarizing then it makes things more difficult for everyone. Potentially losing good players and assistant coaches because the head coach is a complete dick is not an ideal situation for teams looking to build or win championships.
Bonus: He's a black guy- I'm including this as an extra entry simply because EB's other issues are far more likely the reasons that he's always the bridesmaid. With the obvious exception of Mike Tomlin, Dennis Green, and Tony Dungy, have black HCs had any consistent success in the NFL? There isn't a huge sample pool to pull data from, but the owners have to be considering that history does not favor them. Coaches like Jim Caldwell and Lovie Smith seemed to catch lightning in a bottle and fizzle out as time went on. I think attitudes regarding black coaches can, and will change, but more owners need to get on board with the idea that black guys can coach football and lead organizations too.

Players don't like him but he's a good offensive mind when it comes to game-planning which is why he has his job.
Pedersen and Matt Nagy got jobs as Reid's OCs. But players liked them.

He’s got over 2 decades in the most recent charge.
I get The “he’s an OC for an offensive coach that calls plays” red flag, but the NFL is littered with HCs like that.
McVay calls plays and he’s produced: O’Connel, LeFleur, and Taylor (who was only a QB coach)
Matt Nagy stinking up Chicago doesn’t help.
Sirianni didn’t call plays in Indy, Reich did, and then he gave up play calling after 1 season in Philly.

Or maybe he’s happy where he’s at and knows when Reid retires he will be the guy.
Or he knows he doesn’t have the chops to be a head coach and likes being a coordinator and doesn’t want to get fired then go back to being an OC in a worse position.
In either case it doesn’t have to be the nfl is racist

Spags has been a head coach before and failed miserably - once with the Rams and once as an interim. His record was 11-41....
But he's got 3 rings as a DC.
He's basically Wade Phillips 2.0 at this point. Phenomenal DC, but terrible head coach.
He's not going anywhere. As long as Reid and Mahone are in KC, Spagnuolo will be the DC.

I saw Bienemy was on the open market not just as a head coach, but as an OC. If he can go somewhere else and have success, he can land a head coach gig. I understand the hesitation to hire him, especially after we saw how Matt Nagy turned out after he got the Bears HC job. I think Beienemy is great, but it's hard to be taken seriously when you are coaching in the shadow of all time greats like Mahomes and Andy Reid. Taking another OC job somewhere else may be the move for him in the near future.

That guys name is Steve Spagnuolo and you know, he only has 3 Super Bowl rings as a DC.
1 with the New York Giants and now 2 with the Chiefs.
Thing about Spags tho is he is like Andy Reid in terms of getting up there with age. I think he will retire as the Chiefs DC. Steve Spagnuolo is only 1 year younger than Andy Reid

White athletes are losing opportunities left and right because they quoted rap lyrics in a tweet in middle school. Bieniemy needs to be held to this same standard.

Idk at this point part of it is his doing. You can't tell me he couldn't at least give it a go for a season or so.

Heh. He actually was the OC at Colorado in 2011-2012 under Jon Embree. They went 4-21 in that delightful era, and he was calling plays. Not really a good look.
I think he rides the Andy Reid/Mahomes/Kelce train as long as he can.

All those lost opportunities for Josh Allen, he wasn’t even quoting rap lyrics.
