Both times ECU had two guys on vs Gators and no outs, they chose not to bunt.

Results: two runs still no outs and they still have two guys on. Love the aggression.

Ok but they’re in the losers bracket while LSU is 2-0.

It’s almost like the strategy changes based on the situation and your team’s strengths and weaknesses.

Five runs so far now in the inning and still no outs, or bunts

Anyone who thinks that you should never ever bunt regardless of the situation shouldn’t be allowed to watch baseball.

Bunting when you’re barely ahead early in the game is lame, unless you’re facing Cy Young finalists

Where were they in the lineup? Are either of those batters capable of bunting? Do they have a Kade Anderson or Eyanson on the mound (if so you bunt because you won’t need 7 to win)? So many variables not mentioned..

Really?

So a coach can evaluate a situation and come up with different strategies. Who knew?

I still think it depends upon the situation and who is batting.

I am okay with Braswell bunting multiple runners over with no outs.

I do mostly agree with playing for a big inning though.

Not sure when this was posted as ECU has had two big innings where they loaded bases with no outs.

1. Once they did bunt with bases loaded, nobody out. Scored a run and batter safe at 1st. Attempted bunt earlier in that inning with base runners on

2. They should be up 10-1 at least. Had at least 4 strikeouts or short pop outs with 0 or 1 outs and runners in scoring position. Had runners at 2nd and 3rd with nobody out and didn’t score.

Nice anecdotal evidence…..how many times have they done this and left every runner stranded?

Bunting only makes sense when 1 run wins the game.

Which is never the case in early/middle innings.

Great rebuttal, everyone should start bunting based on this fact

Again, it depends on your offense, who’s pitching against you, the opposing defense, is the wind blowing in our out.
