Keep telling yourself that. Pelicans are 16-14 vs the east this year.

and? They have the best division record in the hardest division in the NBA - yet they are in last place in it. See how cheery picked that is? Fact is they'd be one of the best teams in the East at full health. The West is a bloodbath.

That's doubtful. They are not better than the Hawks, Cavs, Bulls, Raptors and maybe even the Wizards. That would put them at 5th or 6th.

And Indiana isn't great this year because Paul George is out. If they were healthy, they wouldn't be better than them either.

So if we're talking healthy rosters, that's 6th or 7th in the East.

It's one division taking up half of the playoff spots. The bottomfeeders from the other divisions are absolutely terrible. They are a combined 42-111 against the West right now.

People have gone from underrating the Pels at the beginning of the season to overrating them now.

And also... the Pelicans might not even benefit that much from a healthy roster.

When the Roster was healthy, they were worse than they are now.

There are too many players who do the same thing on that team. It is almost an addition by subtraction when they have injuries to players with repetitive skill sets.

Pelicans fans should contact Bill Simmons. Maybe he would do a 30 For 30 on the 2014-2015 New Orleans Pelicans.

Impossible. The Pelicans are the only team that has had to deal with injuries this year.

They may very well be one of the best teams in the East by 30 games is a large enough sample size that assuming that they would easily get 50+ wins is not an objectively reasonable prediction.

Oh, come on.

I addressed this in a msb thread maybe a month ago, saying that the Pelicans fans whining about injuries is ridiculous, since they are chasing teams that have been as injured. Pelicans fans can't have it both ways. If it wasn't for the durant injury, the Pelicans would have no chance at the playoffs.

Why are you so worried about the Pels and their fans?

You're aruging hypotheticals by using other hypotheticals.

ok, but can you link to where one of us whined about injuries? because i haven't seen anyone, at least on Pels Talk, bitch (this season) about injuries impacting the Pels more than other teams. i'm not saying it hasn't happened, but i haven't seen it.

eta: the pels fans who post on this board are actually pretty level headed when not blatantly trolling rockets fans. it's just because there are more of us in number on a Louisiana-centric board that it may seem like we're ridiculous. but the fans of every team on this board are guilty of the same homerific bullshite that pels and LSU fans are, so the high and mighty crap is growing old.

0.12/10

I have no idea why saying this makes me a bad guy. I've said it before many times on the msb. The Pelicans have had a GREAT year. They are on pace for a 10 or so win improvement from last year? I still think they have a great chance to make the playoffs. I had to agonize through two Pistons/pels games, where AD tore us apart. But other fans have no sympathy in regards to the injuries. Many teams have been plagued this year.

Kevin durant has been hurt.
Russ GOATbrook has been hurt.
PG13 has been hurt
D12 has been hurt.
Rose has been hurt.
Kemba walker has been hurt.
Chris bosh has been hurt.
Kawhi Leonard has been hurt.
I can go on...

I think the issue is you said it in this thread, and since you mentioned you've said it multiple times before you can probably safely assume other threads as well, where it was unwarranted because no one in THIS thread said it. So now you think this thread has turned into a Pels injury thread, and it has, but it was you who did it, not the Pels fans you're making fun of. You just noted a bunch of dudes who've been injured, but you basically seem to be arguing with no one cause no one in this thread is talking about Pels injuries being so bad.

And that's what makes you a bad human being!!!!
