They like Kobe because he was flashy and got buckets. Same way players like Westbrook or Iverson.
Kobe is a basketball savant, but was selfish and often inefficient. Top 10 all time, but nowhere close to as good as Lebron has been.

Please, 1) explain why wanting facts to support an argument is odd 2) give some facts that support the idea that Kobe is better than every basketball player ever besides MJ. If you don’t directly address both of these questions, any rational reader will interpret your obfuscation as surrender.
Third, and I truly don’t expect an answer—what if tomorrow Steph said that he thinks AI is an all-time top 2 player? Steph has more MVPs and more titles than KD, so surely he is more knowledgeable...

KD is probably the most millennial player in the NBA not draft in last 3 or so years, yet here you are defending him solely to make a point about LeBron.
FWIW if you want a better player than KD saying Kobe is not top 2, here is Magic naming Jordan, Himself, and Bird top 3.
It's an old article, and before Kobe retired. I guess it's possible Kobe could have moved up after this... then again the end of Kobe's career was not great.
