So have the 8 Supers at predetermined sites bid out by prospective AAA or AA parks
So let’s take this year for example.. the winners of bids were
Durham
Memphis
New Orleans
Lake Elsinore
Pensacola
Indianapolis
Myrtle Beach
Davenport
So you take the top 8 seeds and place the winner of that regional in closest park to their campus
Wake/ Durham
LSU/ NOLA
Florida/Pensacola
Arkansas/Memphis
Clemson/Myrtle Beach
Vandy/Indianapolis
UVA/Davenport
Stanford/Lake Elsinore
Im sure never work but would you support this? Could it grow the game?

Why would they want to do that?

It's always better when college sporting events are moved away from college sports venues.
Atmosphere is so much better when the home team has to travel 50+ miles to venue and neither fanbase gets to experience the host teams campus.

They said same thing when they took the NCAA MBB tournament off campus

Your average fan actually cares about the NCAA basketball tourney.

Yeah, the atmospheres suck in the first rounds outside of Kentucky getting sent to Louisville or some shite.

You would have very few asses in the seats in most places.

College football games in NFL stadiums already suck, so sure let's do it with baseball because reasons

frick that.
So, for LSU, as the regional #1 seed and overall #5...your reward is to travel to the hometown of the regional #4 seed?

Oh Rummy the Regionals are held at home so the 4 seed is Clemson not Tulane

A lot of the atmospheres in the NCAA MBB tournament are terrible. The ones that aren’t are close to the school playing in the game.

I think that you’re way overthinking this. Leave it as it is. If your format was put into place, I think the Super Regional crowds would look like those at an Oakland A’s game.

B1G footprint for SEC school.
B1G should probably just drop college baseball.

I don’t think so. Most of those supers would average about 12 people in attendance.

This can't be overstated.
I've walked into Regional finals in NOLA for like $15 and was allowed to sit anywhere in the arena.
Now, home court advantage in basketball is huge, which is why I get it. I don't think it is as dramatic in baseball.

Because Baum Walker(11,4500) seats more than AutoZone Park (10,000)
And for ticket revenue when the big boys play at home you’re more likely to sell out.

I like minor league games for cheap baseball, kitschy promotions, and fricking with the visiting team's pitcher. The stadiums themselves aren't a draw like MLB.

I think if you want to grow the game, then the SEC, ACC, or Big 12 need to schedule conference challenge weekends with the Pac 12 and Big 10. It may not drum up a whole lot of interest, but I doubt it would hurt.
