anyone know what the Cardinals' record is against Houston this year?
The Astros are 8-5 against the cards this year.

If were up to me, I'd be sending your arse out to the Juice Box tonight in full Astros gear.

Thats fine and all but you don't live in Houston. I have to hear this crap all the time and honestly the astros demise the first half of the season was quite amusing. Now that they are doing well it sucks, except for the beating the cardinals part.

I dont think there is anything close to a rivalry between the Reds and Stros. Now the Cards and Cubs....pure hatred from most Stros fans.

If you're expecting to live in any city and not hear talk (some even positive) about the home team..then you need some medication...

For what it's worth...im rooting for a Rangers/Reds World series. I grew up in New Orleans and picked the big red machine to follow. Then moved to Arlington and became a Rangers fan. Im now a die hard Stros fan.

I know, doesn't mean i have to like it. By osmosis I'm probably top 10 rank on astros knowledge on the board, cause i listen to so much talk radio.

I traded him to Boo in TDBL earlier this season. If he stayed on my team, he was destined to get hurt.
I really hope that he can stay healthy.

Switching your fanhood from team to team is pretty lame, in my opinion.

Well when i grew up in New Orleans...we had no Major league team. I think my first game i watched was a Reds/Dodgers game and i started rooting for the Reds. Then a dozen or so years later...After 2 years at LSU... I moved to Arlington Texas and started going to Ranger games and fell in love with the team...."Bobby Ball" ...Pete Incaviglia...Odabe McDowell..Pete Obrien etc. Why shouldnt have i become a Ranger's fan? Hell..i never even lived in Cincy or went to any of their games.

So then after 6 years in Arlington i moved to Houston and have been here for 21 years. All the players i followed in Arlington were gone...and after a few years..going to the Astrodome to watch baseball (cause i love baseball) i became an Astros fan. Why is that so freaking hard to understand?

And yes...i still root for the Rangers cause they are in the American league..but Houston is my home town team and I root for the Stros against the Rangers when they play.

It's tough when your hometown doesn't have a team. Your allegiances can sway. I've been a Cub fan my whole life, but I'm not against pulling for the Astros when they're not playing the Cubs. In the American League, well...that's pussyball.

In all fairness, It's hard for everyone to understand why anyone not threatened by decapitation would become an astro fan

There seems like better options even within Texas. The rangers, the cowboys, the stars, the dynamo, texans, the COMETS....

The woodland middle school wolfpack. Anybody but the Astros

For what it's worth, I was completely joking.

I switched from the Astros to the Cardinals earlier this season just to spite Reddman, and so far it's biting me in the arse.

can someone explain to me what is it about the cubs that makes Drew Stubbs wreak fricking havoc?

quote:

He is batting .333 with five homers, five doubles and 16 RBIs in 14 games against the Cubs this season, compared to hitting .227 with 10 home runs, 10 doubles and 43 RBIs in 105 games against everybody else.

Phillips still out, and it looks like Dusty took my advice last night about Gomes:

Stubbs CF
Valaika 2B
Votto 1B
Rolen 3B
Bruce RF
Heisey LF
Hanigan C
Janish SS
Harang P

Gomes is so lost right now. I'd also switch Heisey and Val but if that would happen Bruce wouldn't see many pitches.
