Well, Val is hitting like .400 in that spot since being put in there. I have no problem riding out the hot streak.

Yeah, I do.

I'm pumped about it too. I hope the first one he faces is Braun and he starts him off with a 100+mph fastball to the ribs.

Then Fielder will come up and look goofy against the slider.

I haven't been this excited about a debut since I saw Homer's first start......let's hope this debut goes better.

Homer's debut wasn't that bad from what I remember.

I think he got the win, but his pitch count was high cuz he was a little wild and he got pulled early. I remember it was against Cleveland.

To make room for Chapman and Harang, Nix was put on the 15 day DL, and Edinson Volquez was sent to Class A Dayton.

That's a wake up call for your arse, EV.

They are saying Volquez is being sent down to Dayton so he can get a start tomorrow and on the 6th. This could lead the way for him to be in the playoff rotation if they make it.

Also, Rhodes is NOT available tonight, so the chances that we see Chapman just got better.

Homer's debut was a win against Cleveland and wasn't terrible, but not great. Volquez is going to Dayton because it is close and they can snatch him back for the playoff run. He has had a couple of bad starts in a row. He might be fatigued coming off of the TJ surgery. I just want to keep winning. I don't care who is on the playoff roster, as for the last 15 years we didn't have a playoff roster.

Why didn't the Reds just move Volquez to the bullpen? The Reds need help with their relief pitching and the bullpen is the best place to put a power arm with control problems. Rhodes, Volquez, and Chapman has the potential to be absolutely devestating in the back of the bullpen

Bullpen is going well. Volquez isn't a reliever. Bruce has pain in his right side.

It takes him too long to warm up. He's better used as a starter.

Aaron looks sharp as usual. Volquez needs to tighten up in AAA
