I rewatched that entire inning earlier this morning to see if maybe I missed a mound visit. His pitches still had movement, and his FB wasn't any slower than it normally is (90-92).

Well yeah. That was a horrible pitch, but not every pitch was like that.

bap, I just checked yesterday's GameDay on reds.com and his sinker was around 91 mph, change at 83 mph, fastball at 92 mph--all in the 4th. Break was there too, around 7"-9" on changeups and sliders, a little less on sinkers.

it was on the corner of the plate. just no movement. dude seriously looked like he was throwing bp. six hits on 12 pitches (i think it was that).

Dusty is playing this right, it's common practice nowadays to shut young arms down as they get close to 150 ip. Hell, they've been playing with the house's money with Leake after his first few starts.

Put him in a long relief role and let him enjoy and gain experience in the pennant race.

and 6 runs, of course.

No mound visit.

He was arrogant as shite during his run in Oakland, and when the Reds stomped their asses in 1990, he never once gave credit to the Reds for beating them. He blamed bad bounces, Canseco's back injury, and all kinds of other bullshite. He always came off as a frickface to me before that, but his actions after the World Series just fueled the fire.

now that makes sense... the A's/Reds World Series explains your venom

Most of the hits were pretty weak grounders that just found holes too.

That soft liner over the center field fence was a weak hit also.

Last night's game sucked, and I don't want to dwell on it too much, but here are my brief thoughts:

1. How can you let a rookie pitcher give up 6 runs in 12 pitches and never go out to check on him? Leake was getting pounded out there, and not once did Price or even Hernandez go out there to calm him down. It was obvious that he was rattled. He proved that when he tried to run into the dugout after only getting the second out of the inning. Poor management all the way around.

im actually trying to recall.

john jay - double
pujols - single through the left side. (i thought this was struck well but perhaps not)
rasmus - hard grounder up the middle
schumacher - homer
lopez - ball ripped into right.

that is 5 of 7 that were hit hard. but like i said i may have some things mixed up.

No, you are right. There were only two hits that weren't hit on the screws.

Barry is still in denial. Give him time.
