I like the comments. I like the rivalry and hatred...fricking pisses me off when a player gets beamed and gets to 1B just to laugh and joke with the first baseman.

The one thing that doesn't make sense about this whole thing is that Phillips is always the guy on the field before the game joking with the opposition. He shouldn't be the one making comments like that, unless he's just trying to make headlines.
I don't condone what he said, but I think it's hilarious.

The only reason for Phillips to have any animosity towards the Cardinals is the result of jealousy since the Reds haven't won jack shite since he's been a member of the team.
You Reds fans better hope that your pitching staff overachieves these next 7 weeks if you want to make it into the post-season for the first time in 15 years. I don't care how good your lineup is; I wouldn't feel overly confident taking a rotation of Cueto, Arroyo, etc into the playoffs.

This looks like a statement from a concerned Cardinals fan. Don't worry about the Reds. They aren't a threat, little guy.

I doubt he gets hit. At least not in this series.

The part about Edmonds hair dye is my favorite.

Concerned? Not at all. My team has made a habit of winning division championships and has appeared in the NLCS 5 of the past 10 years. The lineups are quite comparable and the Cardinals pitching staff is considerably better than the Reds.
oh yeah, thanks "big guy"

I still expect the Cardinals to win the division.
The Reds have a better lineup.
The Reds have a better defense.
The Reds have a better bullpen.
The Reds have a deeper bench.
The Cardinals have better starting pitching.
The Cardinals have a better manager.
The Cardinals have more experience.
In the end, I expect Pujols to carry the offense on his shoulders and for Carpenter and Wainwright to dominate down the stretch. I think the Cardinals will have a 2 or 3 game lead by the end of August (tough stretch for Cincy coming up), and that will be too much for the young guys to overcome in September.
I wasn't even expecting this team to contend until next year. It's been a pleasant surprise so far, no doubt.

Carpenter and Wainwright aren't even playing fair. 13-3 and 16-6 or something like that, respectively. Crazy. I know wins and losses are terrible barometers to judge pitchers, but they're flat out good.

im legitimately concerned. I like the fact that we're also in the WC race as well so we may be able to fall back on that.
