I'm curious to see how Cueto responds to a big time environment. That's new to him. I wish Arroyo was going tonight, since he's been there before. Either way, I hate the Reds chances tomorrow against Wainwright in the afternoon.

Wainwright will be tough on the Reds tomorrow
Votto and Rolen are combined 1 for 11 against him.

Gotcha.
I asked b/c I'm 25 and therefore don't have much of a reference to LaRussa when he was Oakland's manager. What got under your skin?

He was arrogant as shite during his run in Oakland, and when the Reds stomped their asses in 1990, he never once gave credit to the Reds for beating them. He blamed bad bounces, Canseco's back injury, and all kinds of other bullshite. He always came off as a frickface to me before that, but his actions after the World Series just fueled the fire.

From there, anytime he plays a douchebag card, I tend to recognize it. He's a dickhole.

Once again Ramon slapping the nipple off the ball, can we get him in the line-up back-to-back days for the Love of God?

My fantasy team needs this..and Jaime Garcia getting lit up like a christmas tree.

Guess I'm rooting for the Reds tonight. FML

frick that. Hanigan handles the pitchers better and is hitting pretty well himself.

The Reds are considering a change of roles for rookie Mike Leake.

Leake skipped minor league ball altogether and is up to 129 2/3 innings in his first big league season. He was 5-0 with a 2.25 ERA on June 5 but has a 5.72 ERA since then. "We've got to discuss it and talk about some more," Reds manager Dusty Baker said Monday. "I'm sure this will be a topic of discussion, possibly tomorrow." Homer Bailey has pitched well at Triple-A Louisville and could replace Leake in the starting rotation. Leake would either head to the bullpen or be shut down completely.
Good job, Dustbag.

I think it has more to do with teams seeing him for a second and third time than him getting worn out. He wasn't in the right place mentally yesterday, either.

You can probably expect Leake to be shut down, with Bailey taking his spot in the rotation.

redd, this is a guy who has never pitched minor league ball and is obviously wearing down. I'm putting this on Dusty Baker. I hope the kid is shut down, though. Maybe he can move into a 7th inning role or so.

Well played, Mauer.

I thought Brendan Ryan was going to cry. Which would have been awesome because Carpenter could have yelled "There's no crying in baseball!!" at him and it would have been golden.

He's pitched 129.2 innings this year.
He pitched 142 innings at Arizona State last year.

Sorry, but I am going to have to disagree.

Yeah, but those innings at Arizona State were usually on a full week of rest, right? At least until they got to post-season play. That might make a difference.

I'm not buying that. Regardless, it's just about time to shut Leake down anyway. I doubt any damage has been done to his body.
