I was thinking the other day while watching the Elway/Marino 30 for 30 how impressive it actually is that Marino threw 48 TD’s in a season where there weren’t all these rules protecting QB’s and hamstringing defenses.
The top 10 TD passing TD leaders in a season include Dan Marino, Farve, and all QB’s in the 2000s and later:

What a stupid premise. I could have taken snaps at QB for the 2002-2003 Buccaneers and handed the ball to Dunn and Alstott every play and that defense would have still won the Super Bowl.
