fricking right. Forcing this guy out and selling his own property basically without his consent is horseshite. All because of one phone call. Outrageous.

They haven't forced him to sell anything.

The owners never voted.

All the NBA needs to do is wait until about Sunday, tell him that he already won his lawsuit, take him to McDonald's and get him a Happy Meal and he'll be content.... until he forgets where he put his toy and then he'll totally forget about the lawsuit altogether

He likely has alzheimers and this whole thing started with a private conversation recorded by his whore/fricktoy. The NBA should be shitting themselves.

Sounds like he should be pissed at her then.

I imagine a judge would have a similar opinion. But someone with a law degree can jump in here and explain if he has any recourse against the NBA since they never got the chance to force a sale.

Really counselor? Why don't you go ahead and lay out exactly how and why he will win?

After a $2 billion sale, I'd be interested in the argument as to what his damages are.

He'll pay cap gains on $2 bil, which will come out to about $800 mil. Then his kids will pay inheritance tax on that $1.2 bil. End result is about $600 mil. So its not like hes pocketing $2bil

Boo fricking Hoo. If he doesn't want to pay all those taxes, I'm sure he could find potential buyer to help him out and pay less for his 2nd tier franchise.

He's a franchise owner. Franchisors have rights. He didn't build the NBA. In fact, the way he ran his franchise up until a few years ago hurt the NBA brand more than enhance it. He's a fricking buffoon. This "one little phone call" had already put the wheels in motion for a possible league wide boycott if he retained ownership of the Clippers.

At first, I didn't like this guy. Now, I kinda like the way he's fricking with the NBA. This could be fun to watch.

After taxes and his wife getting half he only gets 660k roughly. Someone else did the math.

If you knew how much extra you pay on everything from a stick of gum to the car you drive because manufacturers have to factor into the unit cost the potential cost of defending themselves against frivolous litigation you might think differently.

Pretty sure you mean million, not thousand. Paying taxes and splitting the income with his wife are not damages.
