So not only do they put a playoff game on Peacock, they put arguably the best game of the weekend on Peacock and the one casual fans would probably watch the most. Just a big screw you to the fans. I know it’s only 5 bucks, but it’s the principle. Just wait til this does big numbers, and you have college playoff games on Apple TV next fall. I’ll find something else to do with my Saturday night, and wish the rest of the country did the same to send a message.

You probably spend alot more than $5 on a cable package with probably 50 channels you don't even watch...sounds like you're just cheap...

"Principle"? What principle? The entire college football playoff (and most of the bowl season) is behind a bigger pay curtain that this one game.

I wouldn’t sign up for Peacock if it were the exclusive broadcaster for LSU football.

Not the point. I have the subscription and it annoys me. Keeping up with this shite is getting to be a part time job.

NFL is maximizing its exposure to casual fans by putting the 2 biggest brands (Cowboys/Steelers) on OTA TV on Sunday - along with the feel-good story of the year (Detroit) -

the Kansas City Swifts signed up for this when they soul'd out for the pop culture circus

When it’s on cable I know how I can watch it, record it, watch it on delay, rewatch it, assume my friends and family will also have the game, assume the restaurant or bar I go to will have the game, not have to worry about a 30 fricking second streaming delay, etc. I can go on.

Last night someone said “you can also watch the game if you have an Amex card”. That’s the most ridiculous statement I’ve ever heard. I’m admittedly neurotic but I’m sick of keeping up with this shite.

What's it like feeling entitled to entertainment content for free?

Very principled indeed

I don’t like there being 50 different platform possibilities. The NFL needs to just sell me their product directly. I’m entitled to liking that as a consumer.

Peacock usually has good Black Friday deals. I signed up for 2 bucks a month for a year, but that’s mainly for the wwe stuff. Football is a bonus.

I have Peacock but do not like this trend. Before long we're going to have too many big sporting events behind a paywall. It hurts the visibility of the sport and goes down the road that boxing did.

The entire college bowl season and College Football Playoff is behind a "paywall" since you have to have cable or one of the streaming services that offers ESPN in order to watch.

And those cost significantly more than Peacock. Ya'll have just been brainwashed into thinking anything outside of cable TV is a "paywall". I can watch damn near every NFL game available in my market with an antennae, and then I have Amazon Prime for shopping, so get Thursday night as a perk.

I can watch maybe 5 bowl games because ESPN owns college football.

That is part of the reason I just don't care as much about college football anymore. I'm not paying $70+/month just to be able to watch ESPN. It's just not that important.

But if it was $5/month? Yeah, I wouldn't be climbing on TD to bitch about a "paywall".
