who is trying to compare NBA ratings with the 2nd to last football game of the year?

the NFL is its own monster

the pro bowl events still are not as popular as the entire NBA all-star game

the saturday night shite (3 point, skills, dunk contest) put tens of thousands of people in those arenas

so out of Okafor and Ariza who are you saying is not good?

ariza, who is one of the worst offensive players in the NBA (on a team who desperately needs offense)

based on what?

he's new and his decisions have been spotty

DC for ariza - i say fail, i know a lot of horntards say win. ariza isn't that good, and you can find comparable replacements in FA every year. defensive 3s who can't play offense are pretty common in the NBA

most other pickups haven't been noteworthy

getting jack was fine. the trade preceding this one was horrible. we gave up a 1st for bayless, then dumped him ASAP

jack isn't worth a 1st, but it was a good makeup for an initially horrible trade

Trade him to the Lakers. He actually played well with them. I can't imagine why a player would play better with the Lakers.

you know the Blazer GM was quoted recently about how upset that the pick they receive will turn into basically nothing now?

I take you havent actually been watching games this year if you havent seen Ariza's affect on the team.

You've always been an eternal pessimist when it comes to the Hornets, i shouldnt have expected any different now

because they keep making moves that keep them away from title contention

ariza may ahve a positive effect on the team, but when 2 of your 5 have no offense, you better have 3 beast mode offensive options

west is good at what he does, but he's a complimentary guy

paul is paul

we have had jack and shite at the 2 for years

i know it was protected as well, at least early lottery (top 8 or 10).

it was gamble, didn't work out. The Hornets dont lose much in the long run. And you can neglect they got JAck for Bayless, who fits better with the team. though he hasnt played that great

that's the thing that was weird about DC

every backup point/2 we've used in the cp3 era has just sucked. for some reason DC didn't suck in our system

we've had a laundry list of candidates also. i mean you know it's bad when pargo, who sucks dick, was a big loss to the team

They havent made a move under Demps thats pushed them further away from title contention.

Im sorry Peja couldnt pull Iguodala

i don't know if they got max value, player-wise, for peja's expiring and DC (esp combined)

now, demps may have been handcuffed (he likely was) due to our shitty ownership situation, but therein lies the big picture rub

Thats true.

Considering the circumstances, i think Demps has done an admirable job, though

Comes in with a terrible ownership situation, a new coach that he didnt hire, and immediately has to convince Paul not turn this into every day Carmelo type situation.

He brings in Ariza(who has really good numbers over the past month+), dumps Posey's corpse, gets a backup point, dumps Peja's corpse, and has us in the position to acquire some help at the dealine without going over the tax.

He has to go out and get another big sooner or later though. We're atrocious at that spot right now

Do what? Dude is a 19-20 and 7-8 guy. He's not the best player on the Hornets, but damn the dude's not a bench player.

Fun fact: He played for Xavier of Cincinnati.

great 18 foot jumper, but that's it. without cp3 he's not nearly the same player

he seemed to do fine without him for nearly half of the season last year.

Why you hating so much?

1. Ariza been solid since the beginning of the year. He has really turned around his offensive production.

2. CP3 and Collison would have never been Abe to play together long term. It would be the shortest back court of all time.

3. The Collison trade netted a solid starter and got rid of Posey. Posey was going to have to be packaged with something good to get rid of him.

4. That draft pick is worth relatively nothing since it is a thin draft and we are going to be a solid playoff team. We should be able to easily buy into the draft if we really are interested.

5. With all the expiring deals and large trade exemptions on the market it looks like the Peja expiring just wasn't worth that much.

The Hornets look to have a bright future IMO.

+1 mediocre rebounder. His elite skill is the 18 foot jumper, other than that his skill set is thin.He will not make the All-Star team again and is the fourth best power forward in his own division.
