I didn't read all of that, but in my years of going to Saints games I've never seen this. This dude really sounds like he's getting his panties in a was. Seems like a harmless joke to me. "Oh yeah we're panning the audience now lets pan to the opposing team." It's a joke, not some comment on society.

Is there something wrong with recognizing that the huge majority of NFL fans are going to be straight and find something like this at least a little funny? It isn't like they're singling out gay fans from opposing teams an attempting to shame them.
Straight dudes will always find some sophomoric humor in accusing their straight friends of being into dudes. A lot of these guys have/will have gay friends, and STILL do it. It isn't because they burn with hatred for the gays, nor is it some repression of gay feelings.
This is similar to the gays in the military matter for me. I don't care, and most service members I know don't care either. The problem is when a platoon of Marines gets in trouble for making a gay joke, when vulgarity is pretty much a USMC tradition. I don't want to deny rights to gay folks, I just don't want to go down this road of absurd PC, especially in environments typically immune from it.
