Interesting the trust has thrown this back to the NCAA. They must already know what their answer is going to be.

Should’ve never given it back in the first place, we’re not dumb we know he played then and we know so many athletes at other schools engaged in the same conduct across many sports and decades, it’s hypocritical. GIVE HIM HIS HEISMAN BACK!!

No one played their position in college better than Johnathan Ogden.

Hell, for that matter, no one was better than Derrick Thomas in college.

The Heisman Trust released a statement today stating that they'll welcome him back if the NCAA reinstates his 2005 status.

That’s passing the buck. They can “give him back the trophy” any time they would like. They are not beholden to the NCAA.

If we’re going down this road, how about clearing the names of Beryl Shipley, Bo Lamar and others when USL did a workaround of Louisiana’s Jim Crow style law that barred scholarships for black athletes.

Reggie was a dynamic player on a team of great players and really prior to him only Barry Sanders could match him. Before Sanders maybe Billy Sims or Johnny Rodgers at Nebraska could truly be said to be dynamic.

I don't get it. It's a fricking award, they aren't beholden to the NCAA and never have been. They let some bad people keep their Heismans.

Shite even the AP didn't even attempt to rescind any of USC's wins because of the faulty reasoning of the NCAA and they aren't in the business of phony vacating. They award and move on...Heisman should award and has and moveed on in the past.

Now in the light that you can capitalize on your fame as long as the University isn't actively involved (which didn't happen in the Bush haven't case) what's the problem?

don't think the OP really understood how huge the RB position has been for decades. Some real titans have played this game before Reggie Bush showed up.
