re: Does it feel like there’s zero buzz/hype for the Super Bowl this year?

Yes because it is vernacular for young people, usually aged between 14-24, predominantly black people. For a bunch of fat 50 year old white men to try and say what the "kids are saying" is fricking cringeworthy
So you're old, dumb enough to think that people of all different ages don't post here but rather mostly middle-aged white men, hate young people, hate blacks, and are stuck in your ways rather than learning to communicate with a younger generation?
Why didn't you just say "get off my lawn" instead of looking ignorant on the internet?

KC is also boring as hell to watch now. When they actually stretched the field when they had Tyreek and Kelce was in better shape at least they were exciting offensively. Not it’s dink and dunk 6 yards at a time
And refs keeping a faltering drive alive for the Chiefs while stopping a critical opponent’s drive with bad spots, no calls, and timely penalties.

Posted by Bronson2017 2/5/25 at 8:17 am to Kinderman I’m an Eagles fan and I’m not even super pumped for it bc I know how it’s going to go. They will let them play all game, limited penalties until the final drive for KC and you will see flags flying all over the place. I know it sounds like I’m being sour grapes but I’m just basing this off of every single KC game I’ve watched the past 3 years. It’s inevitable at this point.

The Chiefs have literally been gifted the last two games to get into the Super Bowl.
Two post before my post. Me thinks you’re a liar.

I've only read people typing it, but what does being white have anything to do with it?
Yeah, its a pretty lame thing to type out regardless of race or age.

There’s a guy who gets on the radio on a NOLA station who is clearly between 50-60 with an exaggerated Yat accent that would say things like “That Kid Jayden” while he recaps the previous week’s LSU game and looks ahead to the next one… he does it to help promote a car dealership where they say “Buy from a Tigahhh”

I'm just excited to see Vegas casinos and sports books go broke since everyone is gonna bet the Chiefs since it's clear the refs will make sure they win.

the super bowl just seems like more an entertainment spectacle and corporate schmuckfest than a true sporting competition. Maybe I'm just an aging white guy and everyone needs to get off my lawn but the super bowl sucks now in general
I've been saying since the mid 90s that the AFC and NFC championship game weekend was WAY better than SB weekend.

Between the Super Bowl matchup and location, it feels stale.
Posted on 2/5/25 at 2:44 pm to Kinderman
Not if you live in Louisiana. Since the Super Bowl is in Nola the local sports radio station has been nothing but Super Bowl talk from New Orleans for 2 weeks. It’s fricking miserable. I want to hear about lsu baseball not 2 nfl teams I don’t give a shite about.

Biased because local news out of Nola seems to be going crazy over it 24/7. Understandably so for the market.

Most people don't like re-runs. Yet they keep writing the same script for football entertainment.

I think nowadays the bye week makes it seem to long. Idk. Its weird cause its a damn good game on paper but it seems like football is over now kinda like OSU-ND but oh wait the championship hasnt been played. When the ball kicks off it will feel exciting

People are sick and tired of the Chiefs playing 18 vs 11. Iggles fans are scumbags.
48 states wish both teams had gotten lost on the way to NOLA.

I do what I can to not let things like this get in my way of watching the big game. I’ve never missed one and don’t plane to now. It’s football at the highest level. I plan on watching. Sure everyone wanted a Detroit vs buffalo SB as did I. But I just love football.

Philly is rarely liked.
Massive pushback against the Chiefs for officiating favoritism.
Recipe for a huge turn-off.
People will tune in: A) to see the Chiefs get beat; B) to see the play or plays where the refs fricked Philly, just so we can all bitch, once again.
