bama is out with a loss.

georgia and notre dame are locks to be ahead of them without any other result occurring.

the big 12 champion is ahead of them no matter what.

that leaves one spot, and one of iowa and oregon would make it over them IMO as a power 5 champion.

you 100000% cannot have georgia beat bama and then have bama at 4 for a rematch. cfb would be over.

What makes you think Bama is better than Cincy and Okie state?

They all seem very similar to me

Yeah, I agree. That would be egregious.

It’s most egregious because this Bama team has struggled a lot this year. Why are people acting like it’s Bama teams of the past?

Bama will be the first two-loss playoff participant...because hey it's Bama, ESPN can't have a playoff without them...per their contract with the worldwide leader...

Be honest, the Committee is really ESPN...the voters are just a front.

A conference championship can be the decider when all else is roughly equal.

Notre Dame > Iowa and Oregon even if they win their conference championship.

Notre Dame has only one loss and it was to Cinci.
Oregon has two losses, one of them being to 3-9 Stanford.
Iowa has two losses (Purdue and Wisconsin, both 8-4).

Notre Dame currently has a slightly better strength of schedule than Oregon and Iowa.

I hope they do if it is between Alabama and Notre Dame...ND's schedule is shite and they have no wins over Top 25 teams...Alabama has three.

based on what? all their victories over 3-win teams?

Iowa and Oregon would have the same number of wins as ND...with better quality wins.

As I said in my post, ND has a better SOS, one less loss, and their lone loss will likely be to an undefeated playoff team.

Oregon lost to a 3 win team.
Iowa lost twice and has a worse SOS (as of today).

Iowa would have a much stronger case than Oregon, but is much less likely to actually win their CCG.

Strength of schedule rankings
misleading metric...what is ND's record against top 25 teams?

0-1

Just one team in top 25...and no conference championship game.

It will come down to what is more important, a quality win or a quality loss

If Iowa beats Michigan I won’t be upset if they jump ND.

Iowa is the biggest underdog in the relevant conference championship games.

you will also have to ask, if Georgia beats Bama, do you think Georgia would also beat ND? If yes, you have to give Bama some credit for being in a championship game against a top opponent.

At the end of day, it is not fair for ND to sit at home, and essentially be given a first round playoff bye.

Ok state ranked wins:

#9 10-2 Baylor
#14 10-2 Oklahoma

Bama ranked wins

#8 10-2 ole miss
#22 8-4 arky

Losses

Bama

#25 8-4 Texas A&M

Ok st

Unranked 7-5 Iowa state

Considering the current play from both team, ok st should be ahead considering the resumes are identical really

Probably needed an Oklahoma win last week.

Now Alabama probably needs a good bit(although not impossible) of help.

I’ll say it right now: 11-1 Notre Dame makes it over 11-2 Alabama (but it won’t come to that)
That would be silly, wouldn’t it?
