All depends on the situation he ends up in.

I think he has a high ceiling.

I'm sorry but he should be showing great competitive fire in any basketball game he partakes in if he loves the game. It is laughable to try to excuse a lack of competitiveness. This is going to be his career. His life is basketball. Now if you want to debate whether or not he showed fire, that's another thing.

Obviously. He has all the physical gifts and skills you want from a superstar. His shooting will improve greatly in the NBA.

I think he'll be great with the right coach. Can't do any worse than Johnny Jones.

superstar. If he gets a good coach he's Grant Hill a 20/10/7 player in his prime. Without good coaching he's Lamar Odom 14/9/5 in his prime.

so a coach will determine his career?

You realize the best coach Lebron has had was fricking Erik Spolstra?

He might be a 20/9/6 guy, which would be really, really good. Not great, though
Using your hypothetical, here would be the list of players all time that put up 20/9/6 in a single season, much less average that which you insinuated:

Oscar Robertson - 4 times
Grant Hill - 2 times
John Havlicek - 1 time
Kevin Garnett - 1 time
Wilt Chamberlain - 2 times
Larry Bird - 7 times
Ben Simmons - Multiple times?

So, are you stating that everyone on that list is great except for Simmons? Or that other guys on that list are not great as well?

Nah. If he becomes a perennial all star the Rant will proudly proclaim his LSU ties. They're just hedging their bets by shitting on him now. For whatever reason that place takes pride in being the first to shite on anything LSU.

Why does everyone act like its impossible to get better at something? I assure you, he will get better at shooting the ball. You think a team is going to draft him #1 (maybe #2 but doubtful), and they won't have the best shooting coach around helping him nonstop?

Then everyone talks about his mentality...he played for a very bad LSU team. Many of his teammates were selfish, his coach was bad, and he was expected to do too much. Dude averaged 20/12/5 and it wasn't enough

Will he be Magic Johnson? No, he won't. But within a few years, he will be one of the best players in the league.

He's getting substantially less than other stars coming out of college in the past.

He led LSU in points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals. If you want to question his effort, that's fine. If you want to question his talent, that's dumb, but OK. You cant question both.

If he did all of that with marginal talent, his effort is unmatched. If he did all of that while not giving a shite, his talent is elite.

This is untrue. He's getting more than Wiggins, KAT, DAR, Wall, etc. got.

It's actually quite shocking he wouldn't show fire while participating in a season I basketball he has no business being in. He would've been the top pick the year before because of what he has done in more competitive settings than SEC basketball.

If you're a competitor don't you want to win every time you play?

He certainly chose to play NCAA ball, he could've gone to Europe or China and played there. The NBA has every right to allow whomever the frick they choose to play for them.
