Does anybody else find ESPN Sports Science to be a little goofy?

As an actual scientists, I'm a little amazed at what passes for "science" these days. Most of these segments just keep rehashing old concepts like inertia and acceleration. I mean, how many times do I need to be reminded that a player's inertia has an impact on his tackling ability?

yes, that segment sucks.

I can't believe they have an actual awards show too.

Well, the general public is stupid, so they need dumbed-down science to explain things. Stop being so snobby...

Seems like they just throw out a bunch of large numbers/stats and they don't really teach you anything.

People complain that they want ESPN to do something different.

Complain when they do something different.

Even the more advanced concepts like metabolism are very lightweight. Would it kill to have segment explaining glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation, and lactic acid fermentation?

Anthony Davis' power behind each block is the same amount of force Godzilla uses to knock down this skyscrapers in Manhattan! Whoa!

Know what's more annoying than different people who bash ESPN?

The same one who knights for it

Glycolysis and phos-ox are pretty ordinary stuff you should have learned in high school. It's not that cumbersome to describe how lactic acid metabolism works, is it?

Going away is the "something different" I would like them to do.

1. The average person is a moron. They purposely have to dumb it down and use cool graphics.

2. They only have a couple minutes for a segment. They have to make their point quick.
