LBJ has a very good chance at actually being the GOAT

All the haters can continue to hate, but what this guy is doing is special. Might as well appreciate what you're watching.

You're right. It's special. Never in history has one person had so many sports writers in his corner. He didnt even deserve this MVP, Melo did. The MVP isn't the best player, it's the player with the most value to his team. Melo has way more to the Knicks than Lebron does to the heat. Especially this year.

And no, I don't want him to be the goat...I think he can get Jordan on MVPs simply because every writer wants to push their agenda, but not championships..no chance.

Yeah, just so I can say I witnessed the greatest play. + i hate all the criticism he gets even though he's actually one of the best role models in the NBA.

This was completely unnecessary after you said:

We all immediately understood.

the whole GOAT thing is subjective anyways, there are always people saying things otherwise, like Bill Russel is the GOAT.

This. Like the earlier post talking about holding the Mavericks series agains him. That's like holding the Pistons hump Jordan had to get over against him. Or saying he was kicked out of the league for gambling. It's all what you want to think.

The facts disagree with you.

As for the OP, I'm indifferent. I just like seeing greatness. He is there. Whether it's #1 or #2, doesn't really matter.

He's nowhere near second best lol. If he retired right now, no one with any basketball knowledge would put him in the top 10, probably not even the top 15. You fanboys are so delusional it's not even funny. Smh

Sure. Just because I'm not a big fan of the "older I get, the better I was" attitude. Also, Jordan is a distinctly unlikeable person, so it would be kind of cool if he was no longer the undisputed GOAT just because I'm pretty sure that would really, really bother him. And that makes me chuckle.

So let me get this straight. An argument in favor of Jordan is that he went to two fewer Finals and didn't lose?

So it's better to lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs than it is to lose in the Finals? Brilliant.

Or I guess the pro-Jordan argument is that his competitiveness wouldn't let them lose in the Finals. I just have to wonder what happened during those 1st, 2nd, and Conference Finals series. Guess they weren't important enough for his competitiveness to kick in.

I'm talking as if the media's response/argument to it. I don't think you can even compare them, their circumstances are different, and the eras are just different.

Personally, you can't even make a case for GOAT. I guess that's why they make the top 50 players of all time. Every era is different because when we're coming to an end of one generation we get another player that takes over as the best of their generation and it'll continue when lebron is near the end of his prime and the next kid (jabari? wiggins?) comes in and dominates.

Plenty of people already have him in the Top 10 of all time. Simmons, who in his book wrote that LeBron would never be there bc he joined the Heat, ranked him like 7th just the other day.

That's fine, but we're always going to do it anyway. And I think it's possible with enough knowledge about the sport to do it with some consistency and reliability.

I want him to be, and I think it will happen. He is an amazing athlete who can play any position on the court.

I want it. If Lebron was playing when Jordan was playing everyone would be wearing Lebron's. Jordan had the benefit of Pippen, and a team being built around him. Jordan was able to start his career in a beautiful city with a huge media market. Lebron had to make a decision to change teams that put him in that same situation, so what? Pippen finished 2nd place in MVP votes when Michael left to go play baseball. Jordan lovers theres no excuse. Lebron is a bigger stronger version of Jordan combined with Magic. It's time for the guys who grew up with Jordan to just be real about this topic.
