Do the modern NFL Pass Interference Rules favor Noodle Arms like Brady’s?

To the point the Patriots intentionally underthrow deep balls designed for the receiver to come back initiating contact creating “defensive” PI?
It’s an automatic gimme these days.
The NBA perfected this
Exploiting the rules to put defenders in bad positions: I feel like that’s what we are seeing on blatant display now.

I hate when the defender has good position and they call interference because the ball is underthrown.
That said, I don’t know if Brady’s reached noodle arm status yet. The ball still looks like it’s popping out of his hand pretty good

Doesn’t that make it more obvious it’s by design then?

Nailed it.
It's extremely aggravating when the WR thinks every incomplete pass is a PI.
...Also, still waiting on a RB to get called for targeting when they lower the crown of their helmet while running the ball.

Happened quite frequently with Case Keenum
I think he's a better example than Brady who was seen whipping it last (i.e. see 3rd and 18)

Yes. It definitely looked by design yesterday.

Yes. All Brady has to do under 2 minutes is chuck the ball up and he will get a flag a majority of the time. Don’t think it’s been any more evident than last night.
Refs can basically gift a team a TD with the spot foul. Call a PI at the 20, call a PI in the end zone, run it in from 1 yard out. Just sad what the NFL has come to.

You're simply an idiot or too blind to see if you can't recognize the greatness on display...

This right here. Officials need to examine the ball placement when calling interference.

Huh? Brady doesn't have a noodle arm.

This.

i went off on this last night
the fact that the NFL allows the WRs to initiate contact, violate the DBs space, and then gives them a SPOT FOUL after this is just retarded
i know that football will never adopt my forward momentum interpretation, but they can fix this DPI issue

I saw that.
It just seems very apparent to me that this has become an actual strategy (especially with Brady)
I’d love to see the stats on how often PI is called late in the game when certain QBs are trailing.

That was terrible defense by Paul George in your GIF, and a foul if he made contact.

That’s not the point genius. The point is Wade perfected drawing contact and defenses had to adjust.
In football, however, it’s almost impossible to adjust to this tactic without giving the receiver 5 yards of space.

I don’t think the NFL wants to fix DPI. These ridiculous spot fouls are huge momentum shifters that they believe keeps the game more entertaining.

As the rule stands, I don’t see why WR not let the DB runs into him if the DB is not looking back of the ball. It’s 100% getting the flag regardless if the ball in 10 yds underthrown/overthrown/out of bound.
PI implies that WR would catch the ball 100% of the time if defender does not make contact regardless if ball is underthrown or overthrown. That’s a big leap and the worst part is the big punishment.

Still butthurt about this term being used about Manning towards the end of his career

it has been for years
you see it in CFB a bit too but it's a much bigger risk without the same reward, so it's used less (have to have a badass QB which is rare)
