I’m sure we will see a lot more of this over the next few years. Sad

It’s a really complex issue. No easy solutions that benefit all parties. I really like that athletes are finally being paid, but I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

There's a lot of irony in that statement

The administrations are going to fight tooth and nail to not give up a single dollar. It’s huge enterprise for them. They could have these sports if they wanted to, they’d just have less money to pay administrators and unneeded middle management

Beach volleyball*
Their indoor volleyball program has been very good (for a mid-major) for a very long time... so I was shocked when I saw VB
Cutting beach makes much more sense

3 women's sports and 1 men's sport got axed?
I don't know SFA's gender breakdown, but it seems like Title IX could be an issue here.

Well the dumb student population will never approve a $65 athletics fee on their tuition so probably won’t be the last cut.

Think the Bowling team has won multiple national championships

Maybe they aren’t dumb, they’re just poor

LSU is cutting men's cross country. I imagine we slowly get rid of others like volleyball.

And all seven paying fans are pissed

Title IX forces schools to carry sports that don't make money. It's impossible to run an athletic department like a business.

They need to add that fee just to help upgrade the baseball facility. That park is a goat ranch

Was shocked when I saw volleyball also. Know a kid who just transferred there this week. Never happy to see sports get cut, but glad it wasn’t indoor vball.

Agree. Those idiots trying to get an education should have to pay for athletics. 11k students need to pony up so a select few can bowl and play volleyball on scholarships

Athletics are as much a part of student life as the sociology department being in a gender queer trans racial SJW speaker that their tuition funds.

I’m sure the ticket line goes around the building for bowling.

Being good doesnt mean you bring in any money. Womens sports are just not entertaining.

You seem to really undervalue a college education room and board meals healthcare stipend etc etc.
They were already being paid and not just under the table.
