Was messaging with directv today. If anyone is interested they have these smaller packages with roughly 25-30 channels and cost like $60 a month. One is just sports, one was entertainment without sports. Its an option I guess.

I have yttv and bought espn unlimited. Its a separate app, but I have a multi tv setup so not that big of a problem.

Not sure what Im eventually doing. Whats going to happen in the future is people like me, retired on a fixed income, will eventually be priced out of most sports coverage because of the greedy, evil empires like Google and Disney

It’s also annoying to constantly flip through apps when you want to “change channels” and , in the case of an antenna, switch back and forth from an app to your antenna.

This is where I’m at. It’s 2025 and the only thing that’s happened is they’ve made watching TV significantly harder. Growing up in the 90s it was EASY to navigate a hundred channels. Now it’s a pain in the arse because you have to go from app to app the app, or even if you’re on the same app,, it doesn’t instantaneously change channel because of the buffering/streaming.

I dont do ytube TV and never will but could this be a ploy to get people to sign up for the ESPN/Disney streaming thing they unveiled in the last few months. I know my son signed up for it to watch CFB

yes. In years past they would have resolved it by now. But with their new service, they're playing a littleore hardball

Basically what I did. I cancelled the Disney bundle when my espn plus became “mid tier” and cancelled YouTube tv when this shite started. frick them all. I’ll watch what’s on my abc antenna station which is the bigger cfb games and MNF, otherwise idgaf.

The old espn plus that we had bundled was basically demoted when the espn unlimited service was launched back in August. It now doesn’t carry a lot of the bigger football games/mnf and has more the secondary sports now.

I use Fubo. And have seen DirecTV's service in action. At end of day, they are all pretty similar

The one advantage that YTTV has over the others when it comes to sports is the Multiview feature. I don’t think any of the others have that.

Have had DirectTV for a week. Not as easy to navigate as the YouTubeTV interface but the value is better. Still, likely to switch back once this dispute ends.

unlimited DVR is also nice, not sure anyone else has that, they didn't when I signed up for YTTV.

and i'm not sure how to exactly describe it, but navigating the app is just smoother than any other streaming app I have. Other apps try to make things look cool and pretty, but the functionality sucks and they'll randomly freeze up for no reason or it's difficult to navigate. Youtube is basic but so much more user friendly and functionable than any other streaming app I've had

ESPN+ has never had big football games or MNF on it. It's always been for secondary sports and less popular games, like Southland conference football games, or college baseball, or secondary european soccer leagues. If you were watching MNF on espn+, it's b/c you were also logged in with your cable provider which gave you access to ESPN.

I have ESPN+ because I watch NHL almost daily right now. Plus you can listen to the home teams coverage of the game.

YouTube got that Google money backing them so Disney can't bully them like they've done to others

Is this about Google's money or the customers' money?

But only for ESPN games. Being able to put any 4 games in the quad box is awesome.
