I could see 2 arguments. One being they deserved the death penalty (a real end to the program, not the fake one the NCAA hands out) and the other that Joe Pa was their entire program so his demise and subsequent death was essentially the death of the program.

Either way, I would just hate to be one of their fans. How bad would it suck to be a 40yr diehard Penn St guy with an adolescent son find out his idol would turn the other way and not say anything about his DC diddling a young boy? I honestly dont know if I could still be a fan or if it would even be worth it. The main appeal to college football is the tradition and Penn State's entire tradition was Joe Ped. They have nothing now.

They don’t care. They still have cruises with Mrs. Paterno. And they have a top 10 program again. Hell, they’re better now than they were at the end of JoePa’s tenure. Hell yeah, they got off light.

The only people they can punish now are people who had zero to do with it.

Joe Pa..... Dead

Sandusky..... Die in prison in constant fear of a horrific murder.

Ginger Coach.... where is he??

That leaves some board members I assume. Fry their arse if culpability proven.

I wish it would do away with the entire mindset of “oh god, this is horrible. We better call Coach and get his input first. “

But it happened in Baylor long after Sandusky.

Campus police should be held accountable too. Or they should have specific guidelines in place for what they can police and what they should not touch.

Woah now dont go comparing Art Briles who was completely railroaded to fricking Sandusky. The guy that was president of Baylor at the time was just doing work in the impeachment trial but Art Briles cant coach a college football team? Wtf? I'm not saying Briles was 100% innocent but they basically took an entire institution's blame and punishment and tossed it all on one guy that was the coach. Not comparable at all dude. Terrible fricking analogy. I would say get better but I have very little faith that's possible if you're spitting out retard level shite like that.

They shouldn't have gotten any sanctions at all. It wasn't the players fault. That stuff was beyond the NCAAs expertise. They should stay out of that, it was a criminal case.

I think it should have been worse personally but in all honesty that entire ordeal took away that entire program and its history. I dont see how a diehard Penn st guy could ever feel the same way about CFB again after that. It would be like starting your entire program over with absolutely zero tradition or periods of relevance that you can actually bring up. Basically a&m but at least they have an advantage in location and dont have the cloud of pedos hanging over them. It's all disgusting really. How could any decent person even associate with that program after that?

Everyone on the staff and at the university that knew about it and tried to cover up should be banned for life and/or arrested.

I struggle with the idea of screwing the players over just because their defensive coordinator liked to tap little boy arse.

It doesn't matter when they happened. It came out and imo the school shouldnt even be there much less the football program.

that doesn't make any sense. If a department store employee gets busted for diddling kids, the department store doesn't get shut down. As said above, it's not really a football issue. Should every college be shut down when a vip gets busted for similarly bad behavior? Look at all the people in prison for rape. How many of their employers were shut down? I venture to guess close to 0.

The people that covered it up were punished. Why should current players be punished for someone that hadn't coached there in over a decade?

that's usually why you let players transfer out without any penalty

If Ed Orgeron killed someone in a bar fight and a couple of his assistants helped cover it up, should the LSU football program be shut down?

Not the same.

But if say Ed Orgeron was killing people at the athletic facility and some assistants helped cover it up...you still have to put some blame on the school for not knowing what is going on at their facilities. Pretty much as bad as it gets from an NCAA point of view.

That still fricks the players.

They have to uproot everything to basically be a mercenary for 1-2 years.
