Did Deion want to keep any of the current Colorado players? Will any stay for next year?

Noticed that Sanders signed 21 prep and JUCO recruits, plus landed 50 from the transfer portal. Does anyone who follows Colorado enough know if any player is going to remain on the Buffaloes this fall?

I’m in the minority of this board, but I’m actually rooting for Deion to succeed in Colorado.
But him calling what he’s bringing from Jackson State, “Louis” is like someone on the streets of Manhattan selling you a “real” Rolex for $25.

If Colorado wins they will stay. If not those transfer players will all bolt for greener pastures

It’s gonna be interesting to watch, I’d say it’s like Mel Tucker at MSU. He had great success with portal players the first year and then he couldn’t control them the second year and it imploded. Let’s see if he can get them all to buy in:

Deion may not be around in a year ot two so none of that really matters. He did well at the hbcu because he had superior talent, he won’t outcoach anyone in division 1

LINK
247 article breaking down incoming/ outgoing transfers at CU by player. Pretty detailed, a few weeks old (just after the spring portal entry deadline) so there’s probably been a few commits.
To the OP’s question, yeah there are a few guys(12) he kept. And even some that left that I think he wanted to keep (remember the one WR who did well in their spring game and left).
Also of note:
- there’s a few guys who transferred in and have re-entered the portal (including at least one from Jackson St)
- one CU player hit the portal after the season and Deion is trying to get him back

it was dumb to go all out, he should of kept around some depth, and cut the fat yearly.
71 new players aint going to get you to the pac12 title game

Most people don't understand how bad Colorado was from a talent perspective. Of the 58 players who transferred out, only 10 have found a home at a power five school. Colorado literally had 48 players who could not play for another power five school.
No one should blame Prime. He did what he had to do.

Yea because the expectation for Colorado is definitely the conference title game in year 1

Not a strong conference. No dominating top teams.
He could make some noise if they play well. Will be interesting to keep up with.

They are honestly almost at as bad of a point as KU was after the Charlie Weis era. The main difference is now you have the transfer portal where you can fill out a roster when back then you basically had to build it from scratch. I'm pretty sure this is the first season in 10 years KU will have a roster with 85 scholarship players.
I understand that they aren't talented enough to win games, but you still need bodies for practices and in case of injuries. It's probably going to be a tough season in Colorado, and they could find themselves in an even worse situation if there are attitude issues and injuries during the season.

Why would it not be, was LSU’s goal to get to SEC championship last year under then first year coach BK.

Imagine being dense enough to compare the situation Deon walked into at Colorado to Kelly’s situation at LSU.
