Deontay Wilder: I'll only accept 50-50 split to fight Joshua, hope Povetkin knocks him out

If Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder win their upcoming fights, Wilder won’t accept a flat fee for facing Joshua next.
Wilder revealed his new stance on negotiations for their heavyweight showdown during the latest installment of Showtime’s digital talk show, “Below The Belt.” In an interview with host Brendan Schaub taped Thursday in Los Angeles, Wilder contended it’ll now take a 50-50 split for him to accept a deal with Joshua.
“If it come about that way, it gonna be 50-50 straight across,” Wilder said. “I’m not accepting no flat fees, no none of that. We done with that, and I can smile and say we done with that, bro. I done everything [to make the fight happen].”
The 32-year-old Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) is so frustrated from this most recent round of negotiations with Hearn and Joshua that he told Schaub he hopes Povetkin (34-1, 24 KOs) upsets Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs). That would eliminate what’s by far the biggest potential payday for Wilder, who’ll probably make a mandatory defense of his WBC title against Dominic Breazeale (19-1, 17 KOs) in his next fight.
“I really don’t even care, bro,” Wilder said. “I hope Povetkin knock him out. I really do. I’m done with it. I hope Povetkin knock him out. We gonna show the world that he’s like, he wasn’t.”

he is completely delusional
no where near the draw AJ is
AJ sells out soccer stadiums and is the face of Under Armor boxing
While Wilder was fighting in Indian casinos and small arenas and his last two fights have played second fiddle to UFC ppv.

That Tuscaloosa public education on full display in Wilder's comments...LOL
With that out of the way, I hope the fight happens and Wilder destroys Joshua.

The mandatory defense for Aj fricked this all up
Povetkin was supposed to fight Whyte who is now fighting Parker instead.
I'd love to see Wilder fight Fury, after another warm up fight from Fury.
Also AJ has booked Wembley out for his next two fights, one of which will be spring 2019. So thats a potential unification fight with Wilder.

Wilder wanting 50/50 is his way of saying he doesn't want the fight. He knows he isn't getting that even split. Anthony Joshua can fill 100k arenas in the UK and Wilder fights in Alabama gymnasiums.

I mean he’s tried to get to fight. Hearn wouldn’t take what he offered. Why should he now capitulate more?

Hearn is a snake but the Wilder camp was completely unprofessional through the entire negations. You can't draw up a contract on Instagram.
That and when the AJ camp asked to see the money Wilder said he would put up, there was no proof of the 50 million.

He’s made it about his community in Northport and not selling out.

Deontay Wilder: I'll only accept 50-50 split to fight Joshua
There are 4 major sanctioning organizations (IBF, WBO, WBA, WBC).
Joshua is the champion in 3 of those 4 (IBF, WBO, WBA, as well as the IBO). Wilder if the champion in 1 of those 4 (WBC).
So even disregarding their potential financial draw, wouldn’t the boxer with 3 titles naturally deserve a bigger share than the boxer with 1?

Wilder did offer him a bigger pay from what I understand

This situation is proof positive why promoters have ruined boxing. It's no secret that I'm a huge Wilder fan, but I don't exactly hate Joshua because he's fun to watch.
Having said that, it's clear Eddie Hearn is absolutely terrified of Wilder bringing an end to his gravy train with one of those bar room rights.
So what if Joshua can sell out stadiums? So could Rickey Hatton, David Haye, and Amir Kahn and ALL three of them got knocked the frick out the first time they faced a real puncher. Just because Joshua can fill a stadium with drunk, gullible Brits doesn't mean shite for a true boxing fan. A true boxing fan could give two fricks about how much money a fight makes, they just want to see the best fighters face each other.
Hearn turned down 50 MILLION bennies to fight Wilder over here. FIFTY MILLION! Why? Because he couldn't control the officials and referee over here. And for those pissing and moaning about Wilder's team slow rolling their "offer" that was ALL about officials and referee choices. Wilder's camp would have had ZERO say so about it. They had every right to ask the questions they were asking. Hearn was just doing what sleezy limeys do and slow walked the answers waiting on the WBA to step in and call for a mandatory against Povetkin.
I know this isn't going to be a popular post with those that get pissy because Wilder can't put on a boxing show like Loma or Mikey can but dude just keeps putting people to sleep and at the end of the day, that's what most boxing fans want to see.
Joshua may not be afraid of Wilder, but Hearn is absolutely terrified of him.

Yea no but good try
There is no incentive to train or even put forth much effort if you know you’ll walk away with a split purse regardless of the outcome.

Know how I know you've never personally known a successful professional boxer? Especially a world champion one?

That’s what I’m thinking.
Wilder can’t offer him, he should be thankful AJ is offering wilder. Like you I don’t follow boxing that close but wilder is talking out his arse here

You can’t compare Hatton to AJ. For starters Hatton never had defensive skills
