What a dogshit hire.

Not if Rodgers and Adams follow him.

Would be the best new hire in the NFL if that happens.

His first step should be getting GB's QB coach, Luke Getsy, as his OC.

1) If you can get Adams, you make the room

2) Broncos would have to give up something besides picks, I would think, to land Rodgers

This is why we need a Rooney Rule, but maybe it should be modified to a quota of applicants whose daddies weren't NFL coaches.

How about let a private business hire who in the hell they want? If it is a bad hire they are only hurting themselves. What do you do for a living? Do you want someone coming and telling you who you can and cannot hire? I certainly don't and won't allow it to happen. I will hire the best qualified that also fits in best with my company.

I've brought this up before, but now that the situation is real, time to re-up this: If Aaron Rodgers wants to stay in Green Bay, would Nathaniel Hackett trade for Jordan Love?

Does Denver have enough cap space for both Adams and Rodgers? I don't see any team being able to acquire both of them and make it work financially.

It’s the only time I remember them doing that

Didn’t this guy have some of the league’s worst offenses in Buffalo and Jacksonville?

I think Jacksonville had a top 5 offense the year they went to the AFCCG.

I haven’t researched, but I did read on Twitter.

John Elway’s last 2 years, 1998 and 1999, Denver went to and won the Super Bowl (32 and 33). Granted, he spent his entire career in Denver after they traded for him.

And, of course, Peyton Manning in 2013 and 2015…winning a Super Bowl and losing a Super Bowl.

We’ll see if Denver lands Aaron Rodgers.

The question will be what Denver has to give up to get Rodgers.

If Rodgers goes anywhere it will be Denver.

First of all, Green Bay wont trade him to an NFC team.

Second of all, Green Bay will take a $25 million cap hit if they trade or cut him before June 1st. Most likely Denver hired Hackett simply because they know Rodgers will not want to learn a new offense in such a short period of time and because he already knows Hackett's offense.

Finally, Denver has been prioritizing setting themselves up to get Rodgers for more than a year. No doubt in my mind they worked back channels with Rodgers agent to find out that he would sign off on Hackett being his head coach.

As far as compensation, Rodgers is 39 and is on a one year deal. No way Green Bay gets much more than a 1st rounder and couple 2nd or 3rds because Denver may only have him for one year. Denver has the 9th pick in the 1 st round plus their 2nd and 3rd as well as the Rams 2nd and 3rd. They also have $45 million in cap pace.

Not sure why people think Rodgers and Adams are a package deal. Green Bay can just franchise tag Adams so he is probably stuck there.

Yeah. I took that as going to sign someone at end of career

It wasn't Hackett's offense, it was Shanahan's offense that Lafleur implemented in GB. Hackett may have been the OC, but the offensive scheme came from Lafleur.

They won a ton of games for sure. But Manning doesn't sniff that last SB ring without a historically great defense his last year. Not sure AR is getting exactly that :/

The trade will "happen" but won't be official until 6/1

Denver’s 2015 defense was one of the best of all time, it wasn’t just elite. Of course it’s doubtful Denver is able to replicate that in 2022.

That being said, Denver’s defense was still really, really good in 2021. Top 5. A lot of that had to do with Vic Fangio. It also would’ve been much better if Denver didn’t have the injury bug they had.

He's already 38 and it's clear he's not going to try to play into his mid 40s like Brady, they shouldn't worry about him being in the same conference for a couple years.
