Man I hate being a Hawks fan lol, the Spurs, Thunder, & Celtics have all won, rebuilt, and won again. Meanwhile we've been to the CONFERENCE finals once in all that time.

I don't get the vibe that Wemby is "hollywood". He just seems like a guy that wants to dominate everyone on the basketball court and then go home.
His favorite activities are reading and playing chess and he goes to bed before 10 most non game nights. He won’t be drawn by the “bright lights” of NY or LA etc

He’s a monster, but the usage isn’t sustainable. I’m still riding OKCs depth and you can’t expect them to come back flat like they did yesterday in game 1.

I know this is way premature but…..if we are watching one of the all-time greats, how long does this kid stay in San Antonio?
Wemby would be great in a major market.
What
Why would he care about market when he's on a team that has proven it can win championships and has built a roster in his second year that is good enough to win a championship?

If fox comes back, thatll be another body to help carry that burden.
This is where you gotta wonder if its worth it for spurs to inquire for Anthony Davis. Another big body who can overlap with wemby

OKC is a very slight favorite to win the series, but it's basically a pick em.

I'd much rather SA win. But, if you told me the series goes 6-7 games and they all play out close to last night, I'll take it either way.

We lost this game up 3. Went down with ball and took a dumb quick 3 try and missed. Wemby gets ball and makes logo 3. That was idiotic to take the 3. Any points wins game.
You lost the game because Wemby is the best player on the court.
He's in his first conference finals ever and he puts up a 40/20 game
He made big shot after big shot and out played the b2b mvp because no one can guard him. The only prayer okc has is to tire him out, which is stupid. Hes young. He can play an easy game and powerful game.
OKC is in big big trouble. Like I knew they would be.

Its one game. Wemby took a bad shot but made it, credit to him. But it was a bad shot and if he misses then game is over. Prior to that OKC also took a bad but better shot. Missed.
I won’t overreact to 1 game.

Its one game without their 2nd best player for them. Not good for okc

Shai was cold all game and made a step back 3 late. Wemby is a baller. Sometimes the great ones step up to another level in big moments.

Sounds bad to say but I honestly don't trust Wemby's alien like body to stay healthy for enough seasons to be true dynasty. Obviously jumping the gun before they've even reached the finals once but even if they win one this year, I don't know how that body stays healthy enough to win a bunch of titles.
He's incredible, I'm just a little skeptical.
Also given the assets the Thunder have, they are going to be good for a really long time and will battle the Spurs every year.

In the playoffs, Wemby (duh), Champagnie, Harper, and Castle have all been better the Fox. He's good and will likely cut down on the turnovers in G2, but Harper is clearly better. He's a much better defender and insanely strong for a guard going to the basket.

Maybe this series is the outlier. However, Wolves dominated OKC in reg season last year. And lost in 5 games. Playoffs are very different. Last night's game was different in a ton of ways from the reg season games. Just completely different style all the way around. Who knows, maybe Spurs run away with series. But pointing to games mostly played in December really doesn't make a lot of sense based on the very recent past.

Yep.
People will quickly realize that Wemby fouls on almost every single rebound attempt AND Castle/Wemby both flop as much as anyone out there.
Extreme hot take here but Wemby is only an elite defender because of his length, not because of IQ. He's kinda reckless to be honest. I'm not hating at all, but this is not some reincarnation of Kareem or Hakeem on defense.

I think Mutombo had a higher IQ too.
To be noted: Wemby is 22. He will get smarter and better on D, which is scary

So to test this theory, we should have him play defense not using his length. Sure, that's possible.
oKC fans trying anyway to discredit him. Just marvelous.
At least your not as off the rails as that whoopig guy:

Wemby is actually a cone on defense if you iso him

There’s plenty of film of him being mediocre 1 on 1 defender, just say you don’t know ball.

Lots of okc fans are in denial and still not worried about the Spurs.
