#Lions OT Taylor Decker: "I did exactly what the coach told me to do. I went to the ref and said 'report.'"

He also says its his understanding that HC Dan Campbell explained this exact situation to the refs before the game.

If the nfl had a shred of decency, they would replay the last 20ish seconds of the game tomorrow.

They can reschedule it right after the rescheduled final 2 minutes of the 2019 NFC Championship

Detroit should have refused to play after the 2 points were wiped off. Throw a big stink and make the higher ups correct the bullshite.

The whole field is ringed with those parabolic microphones. This should be easy to see what happened but the nfl will bury it

Lol, lmao

They'll put out a statement in a few days saying "awwwww shucks guys our bad!" just like after the no-call against the Rams

Bingo

Some folks are legit clueless on how a ref would rig a game if he wanted. Hint, this play in question would never ever ever be the way it would be done.

You do it in the margins on questionable type calls so as not to bring attention to yourself. You'd never do it in the most public way possible.

The ref fricked up and either got confused or did not hear the dude report.

What’s your explanation of the Nola no call? Genuinely curious

There's likely little doubt that some ref or refs have been on the take over the years and fixing calls. It would just never in a million years be in the manner of what we saw tonight.

what makes the most sense is the ref completely mixed up the guys. period.

68 was reporting. not the others. no reason for them do so.

i don't why the ref was almost dismissive and running off like that, but oh well.

campbell said the explanation they gave him was 70 reported and 68 did not, but that is their explanation. that doesn't mean it's what actually happened.

i believe the lions when they said they went over it pregame and i believe decker when he said he reported. i can also see how he'd be under the impression the ref was nodding at him. it was like the ref wasn't really paying attention.

and i agree they should announce who reported. they usually do during saints games.

Ref just fricked it up, he missed it and probably thought it was perfectly timed. As bad and off as he was in that thought, that is an infinitely more rational outcome than the ref was rigging the game and did so in the one way to bring the most possible attention to himself.

He's sticking by that story.

Here's the full report:

Did the Lions say they both reported?

68 was talking to him and 70 never even got close. It’s all over the replay.

No Skipper said he never reported. It’s obvious what happened, Brad Allen goofed on the number of the player who reported.

It does seem obvious.

It does beg the question as to why both linemen went up to the ref if only 1 was reporting? Seems if just the 1 dude goes, that takes away that chance of confusion like we saw here.
