This was brought up on the SEC Rant but has anyone given thought to the notion that the father could be the grand master behind this whole scheme? He's the ultimate show boater parent and was the one who gave us the most damning quotes against Te'o when it comes to this fake girlfriend of his. He's the one who said she came to visit in Hawaii and all of that junk. At the very least I think he could be complicit in all this.

I said it several pages back but I wouldn't be surprised if the whole scheme was thought up by the dad and Manti just went along with it because he hero worships his dad. Mormons are fricking weird.

He made it all up and fricked it up the only way he could by killing her off in spectacular fashion (young adult cancer on the same day as his grandmaw dying) thus drawing unnecessary media attention to a person who doesn't exist.

The "official" story is mostly correct and Te'o is quite literally the dumbest human being on planet earth, while also suffering from severe emotional issues.

For some reason, I feel that A would be better for his NFL career.

I saw those. Looks like Te'o wasn't involved in the beginning. I'm guessing he developed an online relationship with "her" and then when she "died", he had to embellish their relationship to not look like a fool in front of the media. After a while, he was caught in a web of lies.
