And this again from @ChiTribHamilton..

ESPN: A group, including a woman claiming to be Lennay Kekua, showed up at the #NotreDame team hotel for BCS title game vs. #Alabama.

What about this report they apparently gave to the Te'o family?

They'll just say nothing was confirmed, just highly suspected...Te'o will say it was confirmed when he received the text

Not agreeing with his bullshite, just trying to predict where they're going with this

Seems like my theory was correct:

quote:

PrimeTime Money 1/16/13 5:24 p.m.

Maybe he really did meet a girl online who used fake pictures. Manti then didn't want to sound stupid and say he has never met this person, so he made up stories about him actually meeting her. Maybe he really was the victim of a hoax and he sprinkled in some lies about actually meeting her. Does my theory have legs?

Seemed like the most obvious reason right when I heard this story. Manti actually was the victim of a hoax. He was embarrassed about the stigma of having an online-only relationship, and simply lied to people about actually meeting her so that people would not judge him.

The simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

I hate O'Reilly, but I really wish someone like him would go one-on-one with Te'O. No pussyfootin' nonsense like Schaap pulled.

Trying to keep up with the lies creates confusion. There are so many. It would take me an entire day to outline all the lies and inconsistencies there are so many.

Maybe. But there's been a ton of lies thrown around now that no one has a good clue.

Love ya, brah....

It's sounding more and more like Notre Dame spoke way too soon and didn't have its story straight with Te'o.

I haven't kept up with specific timelines as it relates to her, but when did she supposedly stop talking? Was she able to start talking again after she stopped for whatever reason?

He did say that he didn't know she was fake until 2 days ago, which seems to contradict ND's version of events
Maybe he went to ND in mid-December to let them know that he was the victim of a hoax because this girl was not dead.

He probably didn't know that this girl wasn't a real person at all.

That's what I said, but I thought ND did a thorough investigation. Surely they would've uncovered this. A fricking college student did.

Yeah, but the whole leukemia drive for money, the little girl, the drug dealers, and the gay theory has really twisted me around.

The stuff other people have said confuses me. Not just Te'o and ND.

I mean, do you have a foolproof answer to what really happened here?
