People whose pictures were used in the scam have come forward. Manti's uncle did an interview where he talks about the scammer coming to their house posing as a charity representative or something.

ESPN got wind that the girlfriend was not a real person about 12-13 days ago, and they sat on this story and never reported. Their official stance is that they were "fact-checking".
However, in the last two days, they are running with every "anonymous source" that claims that Te'o was an innocent victim.

I don't think he can ever get past the whole part about how she was in the car wreck and was in and out of a coma from cancer but HE NEVER WENT TO SEE HER.
How the flying frick do you call somebody the love of your life if you NEVER go see them when they are going through all of that?
IMO that alone is enough to call him a POS even IF the entire time he thought she was real. What kind of shite head doesnt go see their woman in the hospital when she is going through crap like that? It was in the summer so its not like he can use being stuck at school as an excuse.
