From Dec. 6 to Dec. 8 – Teo gets a call on Dec. 6 from somebody claiming to be and sounding like what he believed was his gf. On December 8 at an awards show, he reminisces about the time he was told she had died.
Is it not plausible that between Dec. 6 and Dec. 8 Teo believed he was being hoaxed by somebody posing as his GF, who somehow got the right phone and sounded like her?
Put aside all the other facts for a moment and just focus on the 12/6 to 12/8 interval.

I also find it hilarious that ND came out in support of him expecting him to back them up and when he didn't and signed with CAA and went silent they clamped down on everyone and wont talk. Tells me they knew as well and ran with it.
