Has anyone posted the story about ND's athletic department posting a video interview with a guy doing a fundraiser in Teo's fake girlfriend's name last tuesday?

Maybe.

quote:

Dan Tudesco, a 2006 graduate who now works in public relations in New York, set up an online account at fundraising website indiegogo.com on Jan. 9 to solicit $5,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Inc. The initial pitch said donations would go to the society in memory of Lennay Kekua, who reportedly died last fall, and in honor of Te'o, "two individuals who have been an inspiration to us through an iconic season."

Notre Dame took notice of Tudesco's tweets about the fund drive and sent a university videographer to shoot an interview with him. The video was posted on the Notre Dame athletics YouTube channel Tuesday.

2 options at this point for me.

A. He knew it from day one/concocted it himself as a beard scheme

B. He was getting catfished initially, but found out early on. Like before the "car wreck". Maybe even within a month or so of the start of the hoax. He kept up appearances to save face and eventually, armed with the knowledge that it is all fake and that his good friend is the fake gf, he allowed the story to grow, stupidly thinking that no one would ever catch on. People did, and here we are.

The article by Forde makes it seem like Notre Dame thought nothing was out of the ordinary with Te'o's story, and that he would tell it, and move on with his life

Yeah......after about 58204 lies

But the way you save face is to own up to it and laugh it off or to play along too obviously so that the "perps" know that you know.

While I think there's still a lot of room for us never to find out exactly what happened, I've changed my vote to this, I think.

This shite is like Lost.

IDK you have Tim Tebow and then Collin Klein who is very outspoken about saving his first kiss for the alter at marriage. They are pretty anti-social
Uhh what? Following the religion that you believe in doesn't make you antisocial.

The "perp" is a good friend of his from high school. Once Te'o finds out, he probably lets his friend know, but they don't shut it all down immediately for whatever reason.

This is where the true hoax begins. He can embellish all he wants because there is no family members or anyone to call him on his shite. They marathon calls for four months are likely a complete fabrication. They kept up appearances on twitter and the like, but the actual "relationship" ended in reality when Te'o found out.

I refuse to believe Te'o was legitimately catfished and never found out until 12/6.

Lets say you we're in his position, would you just call a press conference?
Obviously he reaped of some of the benefits when it came to heisman voting, but I'm sure most people would have let it ride as well and hope it goes away.

(This is considering the "duped at first then he let it ride theory")

All valid points, but why why why why kill her off in spectacular fashion. Brings wayyyy too many questions and holes. That is, if he was just simply letting it ride and dealing with eventually.

The fact that it is likely that he knew well before 12/6 and that SI transcript lead me to believe that at some point (perhaps before the season, perhaps at the very beginning of the season) the "hoax" was taken in a different direction and was no longer being kept alive to save face, but to generate a good human interest piece to gain pub. Eventually things probably got a LOT bigger a LOT quicker than Te'o thought would occur. Soon enough the hoax was kept going to save face, but a different kind of face. He no longer was trying to avoid embarrassment for being duped into having a fake gf online, but needed to keep the story going to not appear like a pathological liar with deep mental and emotional issues.

Teo was Tuiasasopos buddy.

Makes me sick everyone saying Teo was duped or tricked or a victim.

Dude was in on it from the GET GO and is a straight up COMPULSIVE LIAR.

I hope to god Tuiasasopo comes out and says he and Teo were both in it from the beginning.

Would be epic.
