Thats from the December 30th paper but who knows when they got that statement I am betting it was was well before the 26th they probable got it when Manti was on the media/awards tour.

Dude...he knew about Lennay being alive well before the 26th. He knew on the 6th and he still mentioned she died of cancer two days later.

Or if he were really a victim, he could get the police involved for harassment. This could be an open and shut case in a period of five days. A news agency with as few resources as Deadspin has already done a lot of the leg work.
As for ND's AD, he either lied his arse off about ND running an investigation, or the results of the investigation revealed that Te'o was not a victim at all.

Why would he lie about something like that? For all he knew there were people out there who could deny such things happened. He was still under the assumption, if he is to be believed, that she was real, her family was real, and all of that other crap. Why purposely exaggerate this stuff when you know there are people out there who would be offended by you embellishing the memory of your dead girlfriend?
