Oh, ok.

If this even says anything about Manti knowing about this, it's gonna get crazy.

I dunno. I mean this situation is already crazy, but why would the Manti Teo tweet a fake Lennay Kay twitter account "I miss you" on Nov 6?

I am saying that while the most obvious source for the Stanford meeting wold be named T'eo, that doesn't mean that's the case. As someone said, ND may have contributed what it thought it knew.

Definitely possible.

Might explain why the article in the South Bend Trib telling the Stanford story was pulled off their website.

He didn't. He got trolled 3 years ago by a buddy and they kept it on the DL to use for the Heisman run.

Meh I could believe he kept it on the DL but using for the Heisman run makes no sense.

There is no way he is thinking "man I need a death to put me in the Heisman race... grandmother dies... fuk it 2 deaths are better than 1 my imaginary GF from a couple months ago should die too. That will definitely put me over the top.

HEy reporter, show me the notebook where you quote a T'eo as saying he met her at Stanford.

Reporter: Uh, boss, we need to talk.

Still, Manti never attempted to correct the "misinformation." Or he was told by ND to just go with it.

I can see a guy just going, "Man, the media really screws stuff up," but not bothering to do anything about it because some of the details were not that big a deal. At hte time. Until it came to light that he only ever met her online, and there really was no her to meet.

Te'o loves attention. He could have said she was just a friend back whenever and this wouldn't even be a story. People have online friends they never meet. He knew saying she was his girlfriend would make his story better and make him more famous.

People on the team and people that knew him on campus knew something was up the whole time.

Had a feeling we'd be hearing about this today.

I knew about all my teammates old ladies in college, and I had teammates from all over the country. It would be an anomaly for the guys not to see, meet, or talk to a player's gf.

But that doesn't mean that Teo wasn't just stupid and naive. For a while.
