JT O'Sullivan's QB school on Youtube has a few videos on Mills and it's not a great evaluation. Both him and Chris Simms like Mond, yeah I know it's crazy, so he could be the guy that goes a lot higher than expected.

Doesn’t surprise me at all. Ponder, EJ Manuel... Jimbo teaches a lot of good things and tends to get his guys over drafted because of it. I think a lot of pro teams have an easier time “projecting” his qbs because of the system he runs and things he asks of them.
Frankly, I think that helps mills too because Stanford runs boring, pro style offense that some 65 yr old OC will wet his pants over

There’s not really many teams left still running that stuff.

And? All you do is deflect and build straw men and your resources argument is another totally irrelevant attempt to deflect from the topic which was overvaluing and reaching for high risk QBs early in the first round. Not second rounders or trading second rounders. You’re so wrong you can’t even stay on point.

Played in the MAC. They were only good one of the 3 years he started and they had a better record the year after he left than they did Ben's first 2 years

Louisville had the same record 2 years after he left as they did his last year

I dunno not exactly making me see the point

No, there isn’t. I still think you get the upgrade in eval, though. They love the reads, “commanding the huddle” and all that junk that you don’t get in college spread offenses. I do think we are a lot farther along than when Manuel and ponder were picked, but it also doesn’t shock me that mills and Mond are the two that seem to be rising from that lesser crop

I actually like Mond more than Mills and more than anyone not named TLaw or Wilson. I do think that he needs to sit a year or so before taking over, but he has the goods IMO.

And Jimbo runs a pro-style offense. A very, complicated, verbose WCO style. Don't kid yourself on that.

The two QBs that took them to Super Bowls were second rounders. They built good rosters and only needed competent QBs to put the cherry on top.

Look at the Seahawks. Russell Wilson was throwing under 25 passes a game taking the Seahawks to the ship. Why? Loaded roster. Why do you think Brady takes all those discounts?

I’ve said it a thousand times on here and will say it a thousand more. When you are building a title contender from scratch, QB is the last thing you draft, not the first.

Ehh... Scouts and organizations really over complicate QB drafting.

Just follow 4 simple rules and your chances are pretty decent actually at finding an good NFL starter.

1. Never draft a QB from Alabama or Ohio State.

2. Never draft a guy who didn't start at least 2 full seasons in college (preferably a SR).

3. Did the QB elevate his team above normal team expectations and/or the roster talent on your team.

4. Never draft a QB over 6'6".

There. Qb drafting solved.

(in case you think the formula is bullshite, it applies directly to Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning, Kirk Cousins, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, and Deshaun Watson.

The guys in this year's draft that meet that criteria are Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson.

I feel like in 2023, the first six picks in the Draft will all be QBs.

definitely don't belong

Honestly neither Wilson does either. Russell went to a program that regularly wins 9-10 games a regular season with trash at QB, running it 50-60 times a game. They won 10 games that regular season with him. He did frick all at NC State.

Zach Wilson was thoroughly mediocre his first two seasons and then magically puts up great numbers when his competition goes to absolute shite. He played one team that can say they were one of the top 50 most talent rosters last year and he looked lost against them all night.

Agreed. I'm not sold on him at all. There's also health concerns with him that aren't being discussed much. He's already had hand and shoulder surgeries.

I think he would benefit from sitting for a year, but the jets will throw him out there on day 1. Good luck.

Mac and Kyle Trask are the two best QBs in this draft but even then I don’t see them being studs.

Lawrence is Matt Leinhart
Wilson is Kyle Boller
Fields is dollar store RG3
Lance is discount Christian Ponder

If a player has surgery, it’s a health concern?

Huh

so chase daniel?

Not even close to being accurate. If you gave Chase Daniel the size Mills has and the increase in arm strength, Daniel would be a starter in the league and at least a top 15 QB.

The Falcons should do the right thing and pick a QB at #4
