Wrong. A split they have voted against every time.
THey have voted against it every time as have 98% of privates but to say it hasn't helped them. When Ouchita parish was long their waterloo.... dang old neighbor.... come on.

But Catholic's DEPTH of talent has increased over the past decade.....

To fully attribute it to the split is ridiculous. That’s what I was responding “wrong” to.

Sure, let’s attribute it to the split though. More championships, more eyes on catholic, more athletes applying for better opportunity to play in championships. I don’t think it worked the way the publics planned. If anything it has hurt them more than if nothing ever happened.

Lol I’m pretty sure chs talent has not increased that much over the last 8-10 years. They have had serious talent coming in for 30 plus years. The split is what has really helped them in the last 8-10 years, not the players they are getting.
Chs has owned Zachary, Acadiana, and WM since the split. Which publics would have kept them from a title post split?

Did it ever come out why Mahaffey left UHigh all of a sudden? I was hearing that Gordon couldn’t get it done anymore?
I think Gordon’s son graduated and Gordon stopped stacking the teams and there was kind of an overhaul at the top at UHS

To be fair, it’s probably the #2 public school in the BR area.
1. Zachary
2. Central
3. EA
4. Dutchtown
5. Denham Springs

Why are tards trying to be cryptic with a HS coaching search? “Ohhhh man you have an inside source at Catholic? You must know a person”

the overhaul had way more to do with that.

When Mahaffey left a lot of people on there said Uhigh would take a step back. The talent level and emphasis on athletics hasn't dipped since he left. Leaving Uhigh for Walker never made sense on the surface.

What was the deal then?

Losing their coach to what school would bother Catholic fans the most?

Good question. In the BR area, U High. Overall, Rummel. Just because we're facing them in the playoffs what seems like every year.

I would think Jesuit and sTm would be more of a gut punch since those are considered more equal by bears(but Jesuit sees CHS as BM's peer )
