Down to three 2017 baws. Time flies.

Yeah, LMJ is definitely closer to 0.25
I was holding on to hope that Yuli would sign eventually as a bench piece, but I understand
I expect him to exceed expectations for the Marlins
And I’m willing to bet that we will miss his glove at 1st more than his bat, when all is said and done

I already miss Yuli but glad he's not on the roster. He would have gotten more ABs than Abreu because "Hey...Jose's good...but he hasn't been good for us as long as Yuli has...Gold Glove!"

I am glad Yuli went out with another good post-season run last year.
We all agree he lost a step and could perform for a full season but he was huge last October. Only two hitless games all postseason

Astros-lite faces JV today.

Yainer with a double off JV. He hasn't hit much this spring and he's been Lee's replacement with the secondary players. I'm afraid Dusty is favoring Lee for backup C. I'd rather Diaz get the assignment. His bat has more potential, he has the flexibility to play 1st and with his hit tool he could fill in at DH.

Glad yuli had a great post season and ended with a ring in his last season here.

Diaz needs more reps as a catcher and first baseman in AAA. Lee is ready to be a usable backup at least.
Hopefully, Diaz rakes in Sugarstein and forces his way up. However, he may make the opening day roster since Brantley won't. It should be Dirden but he's not on the 40-man roster.

I dont put much stock in Lee's bat. I see him as probably a .220 hitter with some home runs. That'd still be a massive improvement over maldy but right in line with the franchise tradition of black holes at catcher

At what point is Gage considered an option for starting the season in the bullpen and not at sugartits?

Any updates on the RSN drama?
Will I be forced to listen to games as opposed to watching them starting March 31?

KDAT will carry all Astros games. Tune into the pregame show with 5 Deep and High C. Then it's game time with Lsuhoohoo, Tiger Ryno and our gal on the field, List Eater.

You're gonna love the innovative broadcasts we've got planned for this season
~Friday Night HarrAshment
That's right Baws. We're exhuming Alan Ashby and letting him roam the ballpark to find the women with the most sparkling eyes!
~The Way Thing Used to be with Jeff Bagwell and Brad Ausmus
On Saturday home games, we'll turn the mics over to Astros legends Jeff Bagwell and Brad Ausmus. They'll talk at length about how things have changed since their playing days and remind you that computers ain't ballplayers. This was meant to be a Bagwell only segment but he insisted we hire Ausmus.
~The Contracts is Too Damn High! with Jim Crane...
A new fully featured program for the network, Astros owner Jim Crane will discuss a different player contract from across baseball each week and share his thoughts on the skyrocketing length and cost of today's player Contracts.

Houston Astros are in agreement to sign free agent outfielder Luis Miguel Rives, sources told Astros Future and Francys Romero of BéisbolFR on Friday. Rives is expected to receive a signing bonus around $800,000, when the next international signing period opens Jan. 15, 2024.
Intradasting. We’re just gonna take all the Cubans. **Pours one out for Yuli**

Forrest Whitley threw well today. Threw 38 of his 57 pitches for strikes and lived ahead in the count. Got a lot of groundball contact — and a couple found holes. He allowed two runs, four hits, struck out two and departs with a runner at second and two outs.
Basically all I'm looking for out of Whitley. Throw efficiently, go to AAA and prove he can stay healthy and throw strikes and provide us some pitching depth.
