There isn't a RP available that would be any better than Pressly.

Raisel Iglesias is really good, but not better.
Kenley Jansen is really good, but not better.

Craig Kimbrel... hard no.

Those are the only guys in the ballpark.

Graveman is the 9th best RP on the FA market by WAR. Brooks Raley is tied for 13th.

Collin McHugh is one guy that I'd see about bringing back and putting in the late inning mix.

I'm with Jwho on this one

Will be impossible not to check results and see what some of the youngsters are doing, but no way I'm following pitch by pitch and coordinating my evenings around the games

B our system makes pitchers better so im less concerned with their MLB rankings than what we see in them

He thrived in a relief role this past season.

And what's our rotation look like?

LMJ
Framber
Urquidy
Garcia
Javier
Odorizzi

I can totally see Click looking at that and saying, good to go. Worries me, but I'm not going to be surprised if they don't make a move for a starter.

Unless JV surprises and takes the QO, I think they stand pat. If they were able to move Odorizzi maybe that would change things.

That gets you through the season. It's not a good post season rotation.

Agreed

Where do y'all look for roster/contract info? I was looking at Spotrac, curious about tax room, and noticed some guys are wrong on there. Still shows Maldy as a free agent and has Raley on the 2022 roster. He's a FA right?

Explain Odorizzi to me, then, Mr. baseball genius. Career ERA under 4 and we turn him into an average Joe.

If Correa is gone, his bat can be replaced at first base, third, or short. Bregman can play short if needed, and Gurriel can play 3rd if needed. Surely there’s a better bat on the market than Correa at one of those 3 positions for a much more reasonable price.

It’s really not that bad, they did get to the World Series and they’re all young and should improve,. Not being able to hit and adjust, hurt more in the series than starting pitching

It's not bad at all. I'd say it's a strength, and that they'll roll with that group. However, they collectively shite down their leg in the postseason (mostly) and there are durability concerns in that group. A veteran workhorse would be a nice addition but those don't grow on trees.

I’d like to see Altuve and Bregman go back to be the line-drive gap-to-gap hitters they were. We may never see that again. But it was better for the offense when they weren’t both pull-happy, launch-angle guys. The rotation was good, not great. Have to hope everyone stays reasonably healthy. Hope the innings bump for Garcia doesn’t take its toll next year. I’m curious to see Hunter Brown next spring. I’m not holding my breath on Whitley.

I can’t see us making a big-ticket purchase in FA even with money coming off the books, especially with some salaries ballooning for Bregman in the coming years. Guess a lot of it depends on how and when the CBA gets resolved and what becomes of the tax and what figure it will be. Would not be surprised if it’s a slow market this offseason.

I give Crane credit for picking up salary at the deadline in previous years. But I’d rather us target Kris Bryant or a front-line starting pitcher in the off-season instead of waiting until July. Not sure that’s a realistic possibility. Hope I’m wrong.
