He's worn the Boras hat a lot after games. It wasn't some evil pre-planned thing.

Verlander
Greinke
McCullers
Sanchez
Urquidy

Any chance we can reprogram Miley or is he a lost cause?

The only thing that rubbed me wrong was the Boras hat. Guess I never noticed it before, but it wasnt a regular pitching day for him. Otherwise it seemed like a reaction rooted purely in the disappointment of defeat.

He has worn that hat before. He usually either wears it or one with some winery on it from California.

Verlander Greinke McCullers Sanchez Urquidy

We’re not sure how mccullers will be upon return or if Sanchez makes it back next year at all.

He may be too expensive but I’d like to get a proven World Series performer in Madison Bumgarner. I think he would fit in with our business like work ethic and family atmosphere that Cole was talking about. Plus, he might give greinke someone to talk to.

Perhaps the biggest perk would be this. Imagine throwing 4 completely different styles at teams throughout a series. Verlander, greinke, bumgarner mccullers . If Whitley can make his debut and stick, Sanchez can make it back to some semblance of himself from several years ago, and urquidy and abreu can build on this past year then we’ll have a formidable bunch.

Is it possible that the juiced balls effected our hitting strategy all season?

I've said many times over the season that "average" or "warning track power" was transformed into 25-35 HR power this season because of the ball.

Yuli, in my opinion, was the primary Astro to capitalize on the juiced balls.

That said, the Astros didn't score runs because they had terrible approaches at the plate. Game 6, 1 out, Altuve at the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Instead of looking to drive the ball into the outfield and get a run home... what was his approach? Swing out of his socks on a ball a foot over his head. Then promptly flail at two pitches down and away --- the 3rd strike was so far out of the zone, it was damn near on the other side of the batter's box.

That's just one example, but the post season was full of Astros hitters with terrible plate discipline -- which they were the MLB best in this year.

I'd love to add a guy like Bumgarner, but have a feeling the only player they would really drop that cash on is Cole.

I want Luhnow to give Springer the contract he deserves.

Then do some more dumpster diving like he did with CFM and Miley.

I'm not the biggest fan of McCullers relatively speaking but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what he could be like post Tommy John with velo presumably up a few ticks. He already averaged 95 on his 4-seamer. His ceiling could like a poor man's Cole with his elite curveball.

Hoping for the same Lou. A lot of guys have come back from that surgery better than they were before and Lance was pretty good before. He would be a great compliment to Verlander and greinke.

I was at the game in KC when he had a no hitter going into the 7th. Right after the douchebag next to me saw that and commented about it, the Royals got a hit. Jerk.

Sanchez is a good bet to be dropped, Pineda, Porcello, or Another pitcher would take his spot
