Realmuto probably the most overrated player in play right now.

Let's put it this way. I suspect our "big" offseason trade to be someone like Robbie Ray than J.T. Realcostlyto.

Sign Grandal or Ramos. Maybe deal for Sal Perez.

I would very much like Grandal or Ramos. Sign one, bring back Chuck on a short deal, deal for Castellanos to DH and play some 1B

Goldschmidt is my pipe dream bat deal that has a snowballs chance of happening. And if we deal for a cost controlled SP instead of resigning Chuck, sign Nellie Cruz instead of dealing for Castellanos

Sign Ramos at C
Sign Nelly Cruz at DH
Trade for Marcus Stroman

The upgrades of Ramos and Cruz give us the ability to pencil in Tucker for LF.

I agree. Way over-valued right now.

I'd like to see them get Nelly Cruz. But I kind of think they may end up with Santana from Philly... send over a package including Tyler White et. al. Philly needs to dump that contract so they can pay Harper.

Santana/Yuli combo could be pretty solid with Yuli taking the Marwin position.

A Tucker/Springer/Reddick outfield will be just fine. I don't think Reddick is nearly as good as his 2017 year. But he's not nearly as bad as his 2018 season. There is an acceptable middle-ground there.

I know the club has some serious immediate needs, but I think Luhnow has a much more holistic view of the club. He isn't just looking at this season, he's looking at what happens for 2020 and beyond.

If McHugh is indeed a starter next year, that will mean that 3 of the SP for next season will be FA for 2020. Verlander, Cole, McHugh -- that's a big freaking deal trying to find replacements for all of those quality starts/innings.

No way. I'm not saying that it is an unfair trade. Because I think it would be fair.

But I don't want to give up tucker for an over-valued Realmuto.

ETA: That said, it might make sense to get Realmuto. The trends indicate he will be a league MVP next season.

Do not want.

I'd much rather trade for Robbie Ray if the Diamondbacks are dealing.

How many years does JT have left on his contract? Looks like 1 year left, but mlb.com does some weird stuff during arb years.

Sign Ramos/Grandal
Trade for Robbie Ray/James Paxton
Sign Nellie Cruz
Put Tucker in LF

Call it a day. This has the potential for the GOAT off season IMO with the many options that we can pounce upon through free agency or trades.

Oh that makes it more tempting to let go of a top guy not named Forrest

How about trade Trent Thornton for Aledmys Diaz?

Diaz seems to be Marwins replacement. He hit .264/18/55 with a .303 OBP, .453 SLG. w/Toronto last season

Yep, that's pre-2017 Marwin right there.

For #Astros, acquisition of Diaz is protection in event they lose free agent Marwin Gonzalez. Team still wants to keep Gonzalez.

His spike rookie year seemed fluky with the .300 average but you never know. One good tweak and maybe he's that guy again. Too bad Hudgens is gone. Sigh.

or, maybe Ms. Texas has told Luhnow that she refuses to let Correa have his spine again next season?

Nothing to not like about this trade. I really don't think we'll pay what Marwin is going to want.
