If tweet fails to load, click here. Good Lord if Dana Brown got the Cubs to agree to that he’d go from zero to hero in an instance

“There is smoke around Tucker and the Cubs, and Bellinger and the Yankees”
“The Bellinger deal is a money dump. The Yankees can pay all, maybe they don’t want to pay all, but they can pay most of it” Says he doubts they extend him
Also mentions he’s heard the Astros don’t want Bellinger because of his comments on the 2017 cheating scandal, and won’t move Tucker to the Yankees due to the rivalry.

Yeah there’s no way. One of Paredes or Suzuki and one of the prospects seems a lot more realistic to me. If he gets the three of them I’d be ecstatic, that’s more than what was dealt for Soto or Lindor IMO

With Tucker, you get the production of a Soto or Lindor without all of the annoying personality, ambition or leadership ability.
Tucker is like a top-of-the-line stock Android phone that may or may not have Chinese spyware in it.

I’d take Suzuki, Shaw and a maybe a lower level pitching prospect in a heartbeat to be honest. But I think they are zeroed in on Paredes as part of it
I think it’s also possible Pressly is headed out in any deal with Chicago. It’s not a secret we are shopping him and the Cubs need late inning relievers

We have a way of getting something out of pitchers that haven't performed

I doubt the Cubs deal Shaw, I think they see him as a future star. Paredes is young and his dead pull power profile fits the Crawford boxes much better than it did at Wrigley where it's 355 down the line and the wind blows in as much as it does out and last year much more. Paredes hit 31 homers in Tampa in 23, he can top that in Houston.
Susuki is one of the top 20 hitters baseball IMHO, but he proved he could not play even an average right field so he was pretty much delegated to DH which apparently he does not want to do, hence the talks of waiving his no trade came about.
Those two and a prospect seems a bit high for the Cubs for a 1-year rental, if they do that I would hope as a Cub fan that there is some certainty that Tucker will sign a contract with the Cubs past this year and also the Stros will throw a quality pitcher in with the deal. Though Neris did not work out to well last year

I think I could get on board with it, seeing how I watched our old 3rd baseman do the same, regardless of the fact that he could hit to any field

You don't have to be a great fielder to play LF in Houston. Yed is headed to full time DH anyway

He actually did fine when he returned to us, IIRC

Here is how i see it playing out.
Bregman signs with yankees or red sox..
Astros aign Polanco.
Astros dont trade Tucker this offseason.
Tucker gets hurt before deadline nullifying his value
78 win season.

Yeah I don’t see any way Tucker pulls those two major leaguers plus a major prospect. I see it being Paredes, a higher level prospect (Cam Smith?) plus maybe a pitching prospect or two further down the list. Which is a perfectly acceptable deal for one year of Tucker
Chicago can deal Bellinger to one of the clubs (probably New York) that missed out on Tucker. I do see the Cubs as by far the most desirable place to send him in terms of what they have to offer
Shaw seems like as sure of a thing as it gets to hit at the major league level. I wouldn’t want to deal him if I were a Cubs fan

Can we interest you in a Ryan Pressly with a bag of dicks as a bonus gift?
