TBH I've been more turned off by the salty Astros fans.
I realize that a lot of people are new to the DAT, but you have to understand this isn’t something new. The fans in the DAT have been salty as hell for years.

Edit: I’ve seen ban worthy exchanges for a Wednesday get away game amongst ourselves in June/July, I can only imagine if someone injects themselves in the DAT during the playoffs odds are they will be treated as a DAT regular. Meaning get put on blast even if what you said is rational.

Last night was a weird game. Morton was pitching very well. I ain't worried, we'll get back on track tonight. If LMJ can get through the first 2 with relative ease I'll feel great.

So posting in the MSB during the regular season proves you're a true fan? I watch soccer all the time and I never post on the soccer board.

I've read the DAT for years and hardly post. I still consider myself a die-hard though...

It's mostly because we've had our own thread all year to discuss things and now that it's the ALCS a lot more people care and want to post and troll in it. It's not that big of a deal but I prob won't be looking much at this thread during games while the playoffs are going on

I posted in the DAT last night because I was watching the game and saw no other thread on the MSB with live commentary. It was a fun time. Of course the ALCS is gonna bring more people to the DAT. I'm sure chicken sees a bump in NBA threads during the Finals as well.

I respect the hell out of the Astros organization. They built this team from the ground up and did so by adding true ballplayers. They are achieving the success that was predicted a few seasons ago by sportswriters in the know.

It proves you are a true fan of the DAT.

I think ppl get salty when we go through 162 DATs and only hear from the occasional Rangers fan but come the playoffs every Redsox and Yankee bandwagoner comes around. As someone previously said the DAT generates animosity within itself during the dog days of summer much less with the opponent during the ALCS

Imo it's kind of ridiculous to postulate that rooting for a team that hasn't won the Pennant or WS in 8 years is "bandwagoning". Lol they were even saying, "Lemme guess, Warriors fan?" They're not even comparable in the slightest sense.

I posted in it last night because it was the only game thread I saw. No need for Astros fans to get all sensitive about it. It's an open messaging board. You'd think Yankees fans were going into Astros fans' refrigerators and whacking off on their couches.

Yanks had 7 hits. Among them:

Bunt single
Swinging bunt
Bloop single
Improbable home run
Double misplayed by Maybin
Headley single into Altuve's glove
HR on the dumbest pitch selection ever

All 8 Yankees runs were scored with 2 outs. On Fraziers stupid HR after a swinging bunt and bloop single, on a single that Altuve gloved but couldn't beat the runner, on a wild pitch and on Will's dummy pitch following a walk and HBP.

All the bad luck belonged to us last night. Gotta do a better job getting out of innings but the obvious problem is the sorry state of our offense. We've been pretty much held in check since game 2 of the ALDS.

Most Yankee fans are bandwagon fans... they haven't had a losing season in like 20 years. Even if you've been a fan your whole life you still became one bc they were good when you were young.

Unless you have a connection (lived in or around the city, personally knew someone on the team) then you're a bandwagon fan IMO.

So fans in Mississippi who follow the Braves are bandwagon fans? Are they not allowed to root for a team just because they don't have a sports team?

I watch at least 5 games a week. Love tha stros. It’s my favorite sport and team. I only rarely post in the dat. The overreacting each way is aggravating during the season. So I see where you are coming from.

So if I'm from Mississippi, I either have to choose some regional team I have no connection to or risk being a bandwagon fan? Seems kind of ridiculous imo.

I mean you can still root for whoever you want, you'd just be a bandwagon fan in my book. If you had a reason like region (Cardinals, Astros, Braves, Royals) or being a kid and always having the cubs on tv then yeah I'd get it. But if you just choose to be a Yankee fan then I'm going to assume you're a bandwagon fan.

I always thought a bandwagon fan was one who only supports a team during times they are winning championships.
