So there are reports that lance himself didn't know he was starting till after the game and then got up to throw after the game last night to work on stuff....

Not gonna lie staring Lance scares me. I am sure Peacock will be on notice pretty quick though if he struggles

Mostly we need to score runs. 11 men LOB last night

Yeah as bad as our pitching was last night, they weren't my biggest concern. It's the hitting. Can't let CC Sabathia completely dominate you like that. That's beyond unacceptable. Maybe they'll get to Sonny Gray since he hasn't pitched in like 2 weeks, but we'll see. I was happy to see McCugh pitch really well last night though. Today is a new day.

Morton has some bad luck and hunch rightfully so put our b team pitchers on after. I’m still just as confident today as I was yesterday.

Morton didn't even look bad. Baseball gods were not kind to us last night.

I always said I wanted to win one out of the first two in New York. That’s still on the table. Honestly as long as we can sneak one win in New York it wouldn’t be the end of the world. I’d prefer not to take it to game 7 though.

The pitching really wasn't that bad. Frazier stuck his arse in the dugout and reached out to flick one over a short porch. That was a great pitch. The runners who were on got on with very soft contact, seeing eye stuff. Same thing happened in the fifth, though Judge's home run was legit.

I agree that our bats just can't go dead in the most important moment of the season.

This.

Dribbler, bloop, off-balance flailing swing for a HR...

Then Maybin forgets how to play OF.

Just one of those Murphy's law games.

I agree. Also McHugh eating the rest of the game in relief was huge. And he looked good doing so, though the game was out of hand. Regardless he kept basically everyone fresh

Marwin Gonzalez batting lefty Vs the short porch in RF?

Yes please.

I like the Astros chances today. I'm thinking an 11-3 game is due.

Agreed, I thought Morton had really good stuff and got unlucky. Will Harris challenging a slumping Judge up and in was inexcusable. I get that he Gattis just allowed a wild pitch but you still have to bury a curveball there and not shake him off twice. That was the worst part of the entire game IMO. Took us completely out of it

When we last saw Sonny in Oakland this June, he gave up 5 runs in the 1st, including a leadoff Springer Dinger! We need to jump on him early again.

Springer and the rest of the outfielders really need to get their shite together if we're going to have a chance in this series!

As always, GO STROS!!

I hate McCann's dead fish in the line up but even to a dumb baseball fan like myself can notice the difference in catching.

Gattis just doesn't do the pitching staff any favors

That or Correa popping up with the bases loaded only down by 3. A big hit there changes the momentum and keeps the Astros in the game.

Oh well, still up 2-1, start fresh this afternoon.

I think Lance is about to have an absolutely dominant performance

I feel like there's no in between, he will either dominate or it will be a disaster. If he gets off to a clean start and gets over the adrenaline I will be optimistic, but he's going to be really charged up
