I had forgotten that he was a starter in the minors. he pitched 113.2 innings. Don't know how long it has been since he went deep into a game, but I think he can be useful in some role.
I hate the concept of the bullpen game, but Javier getting hurt forced Joe's hand. There is no sense rushing Brown. I would rather have him on his normal rest Wednesday.

And against all odds, the patchwork games worked pretty well last week with the issue of the starters going deep. (obvious exception being shitty Sousa's blow up on Friday)

I am a lot more interested in who is set up for the bulk work behind the opener. Blubaugh, Ullola and Pecko have all looked pretty good doing it. I wonder if they hold Blubaugh back so he can be available for later inning work
