All is good in Hazzard County. The good ol' boys are making their way, the only way they know how. Some might even argue that they are "doing it their way". Regardless of semantics, they have put up historic numbers with the bats the last 2 days.

quote:

The Astros' +35 run differential over their last 2 games is the 4th-best run differential over any 2-game span in the Modern Era (since 1900). It's the best by any team since the 1953 Red Sox turned in a +36 run diff from June 17-18, 1953.

Tanner Roark is the unlucky bastard for the A's who is due to pitch today against that offense. That might be up in the air, though.....here is a look at footage of Roark driving the back roads to Minute Maid Park and getting the phone call that he would be tonight's starting pitcher:

Of course this run was all started by the ultimate good ol boy himself, Wade Miley.

Miley should be well rested after his 0.0 inning outing vs. the Mariners on Thursday, when he allowed 5 runs.

And as requested by DAT legend El Campo Tiger, here are some gratuitous Daisy Duke shots for your enjoyment.

the run differential sure took a step up this month

On August 4th the Astros were 4th in RB at +122. 43 runs behind the dodgers

Today the Astros are 1st at +255. 32 runs ahead of the dodgers

I would feel better about the post season if Miley can pitch a little better coming down the stretch. It would be nice having a reliable 4th starter.

And I hope the important part of the bullpen is getting some valuable rest these last few days. Osuna and Harris especially.

I hope Gurriel comes back soon. It would be cool to have two 100 rbi guys.

This actually feels like a tricky game. Roark has pitched well; Miley hasn't in his last couple games.

The offense can't possibly all stay this hot.

The Astros are due for one of those games where they knock the hell out of the ball and they all go right at the fielders.

But this sure is fun while it is happening...

Cannot play with him, cannot win with him, cannot coach him. Can't do it. I want winners. I want people that want to win.
